Atlanta Skate Park Tips
- Wipeouts happen often! Protect kids with proper equipment: helmet and knee, wrist, and elbow pads.
- Wear sunscreen and drink lots of water during skateboard sessions, as there isn't much shade.
- Don’t allow kids to skate right after heavy rainfall because of hazardous conditions.
- The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends kids 6-10 years old be supervised by an adult.
- Teach kids to wait their turn. Although a park may be large, certain elements require skaters to ride one at a time.
- In elements where multiple skaters can participate, teach kids to skate in the same direction.
- Skateboard shops are great resources for equipment, lessons, and summer camps.
