Weekend Fun For Westchester Kids: Eggs, Bunnies, Wolves, Earth Day & More, April 19-20
Spring is truly here! As Spring Break winds down, this is a fantastic weekend to get outside, explore the reawakening world and celebrate the return of long warm days.The forsythia are bursting into bloom, pollen is floating through the air and bunnies are laying eggs all across Westchester County.
For children and families who are celebrating Easter on Sunday, this weekend is packed with opportunities to hunt for eggs, hide eggs and pose for a photo with the Easter Bunny.
In addition to Easter activities, Earth Day celebrations are getting under way in Ossining and Yorktown while nature centers across the county are helping people learn about the ways in which animals, birds and bugs greet the spring.

The Easter Egg Hunts Continue! Grab your basket and get ready to go. This Saturday there will be an egg hunt in Yonkers, TWO in Tuckahoe, the Annual Egg Hunt in Dobbs Ferry and the Sleepy Hollow Egg Hunt. Make sure you check our events site for details on each hunt.
Stew Leonard’s Breakfast With The Bunny - Yonkers
The Easter Bunny and his friends are hosting breakfast at Stew Leonard's on Saturday--and you’re invited! With two seatings, there will be plenty of space for lots of little guests. Stew’s chefs will be cooking up waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit and bagels, all served with OJ, milk and coffee. Children will receive a goody bag and a photo with the bunny! Dedicated to the memory of the late Pete Seeger, Ossining’s 5th Annual Earth Day Festival will be dedicated to keeping Ossining beautiful and learning more about how to protect, and sustain, the Earth. Gather at the Trailside Nature Museum in Ward Pound Ridge to learn about all of the different kinds of animals that lay eggs. We’ve all encountered this conundrum- What came first? The chicken or the egg? If the chicken came first, where did the egg come from? If the egg came first, who laid it? Unravel this mystery with a little help from Teatown Lake and the flock at Cliffdale Farm. Pre-registration required. $5.

Egg Hunt With Wolves - North Salem
Join Westchester’s Wildest Easter egg hunt! The Wolf Conservation is putting a furry spin on the traditional egg hunt; participants will be hiding eggs for the wolves to find. Pre-registration required.
Earth Day On The Farm - Yorktown
Visit Hilltop Hanover to kick off your celebration of Earth Day. Meet the farmers, explore the trails, take a guided tour and learn about the of the elements that it takes to keep a sustainable farm up and running. FREE.
BEYOND WESTCHESTER
On Saturday and Sunday, travel down to The New York Botanical Gardens and check out the Culinary Kids Food Festival or head next door to the Bronx Zoo for a visual Easter Egg hunt at the Dinosaur Eggstravaganza.
Take a trip over the river to Cornwall-on-Hudson and learn all about spring’s furriest and most prolific ambassadors- bunnies! Kids will learn about rabbits, meet live bunnies and make a bunny craft to take home.
