Head to the St. Enoch Centre (between two of Glasgow's most famous shopping streets, Argyle Street and Buchanan Street), to find the ultimate toy store—Hamley’s. There are also family-friendly restaurants and a cinema.

3. Scottish Football Museum

Does your family love soccer? If so, don't miss the Scottish Football Museum. Trace the history of soccer in Scotland through thousands of objects and films. The museum is located at Hampden Park, home to Queen's Park F.C. and the Scottish National Football Team.

4. Greggs and George Square

No trip to Glasgow, Scotland is complete without a stop at Greggs. The fast and friendly bakery serves everything from sausage rolls to steak bakes and sweet treats. Pick up food at 13 George Square and enjoy your meal in George Square, where kids can stretch their legs and chase the pigeons.

7. Glasgow Science Centre

Want to learn something new on vacation? Look no further than the Glasgow Science Centre. Fun and educational for all ages, families can visit the Planetarium, unravel the mysteries of outer space, question perception, learn how the body works, and enjoy interactive exhibits on physics and engineering. There’s even a tower (the tallest freestanding building in Scotland) where you can enjoy breathtaking city views and more.

8. Enjoy Afternoon Tea

There are plenty of places to enjoy a hot cup of tea in Glasgow, but we like Willow Tea Rooms on Buchanan Street. The space is inspired by famous Glasgow artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The traditional foods are tasty, and there's a children’s menu for smaller appetites.

9. Have a Pub Lunch

You can't leave Glasgow without a traditional pub meal. Our favorite is Sloan's, Glasgow's oldest bar and restaurant. It offers a kid's menu, and little ones will get a kick out of walking through the art-filled tunnel to get to the pub's entrance and courtyard.

10. Catch a Football Match

There's nothing better than a Scotch Pie and a warm cup of Bovril (a gravy-flavored drink) while watching the action unfold on the pitch. The entertainment and atmosphere will likely be the highlight of any trip. Celtic and Rangers are the two biggest teams in Glasgow. Book tickets in advance!

11. RollerStop

Just a few minutes from both the Kinning Park and Shields Road Subway stations, RollerStop is the perfect place to skate in a fun disco environment. You can rent skates on site. There's also a cafe serving a good variety of snacks and drinks. Little ones must be at least 4 to skate.

12. Clip 'n Climb

This Kelvin Hall indoor rock climbing gym is a fantastic experience for all ranges of abilities. Only those brave enough should try the Leap of Faith! Those 12 and under can also enjoy the Circus in the Park-themed soft play.

13. Go on a Treasure Hunt

A self-guided, interactive tour through Go Quest Adventures turns a walk around the city into a treasure hunt. You’ll see quite a few sights along the 2.2-mile trek.

14. Catch a Movie

Cineworld and Vue Cinema are great options for catching a flick in Glasgow. Both are conveniently located in the city centre and offer big blockbuster family favorites.

This West End gem, open from 7am to dusk, has over 9,000 different plants, most of which live in tropical glasshouses. For younger children, check out Minibeasts, Birds, and Trees of the Botanics, which is a waymarked trail aimed at young families.

16. Glasgow Mural Trail

Street art decorates the sides of so many buildings in Glasgow, Scotland. Keep your eyes peeled while walking around, and make sure to do the official Glasgow Mural Trail. Just follow a map to see stunning sites. Little ones get such a kick out of finding new pieces that are sure to impress the entire family.

17. Tall Ship Glenlee

Want to know what life was like on the high seas? Visit the Tall Ship Glenlee, an independent museum, to see the galley, ring the bell, and explore every nook of the ship. Glenlee was restored to her former glory and is the only Clyde-built steel sailing ship still afloat in the UK.

There’s also a Scottish wildlife room, interactive activities, Egyptian antiques, fine art, arms and armor, and much more.

19. The Riverside Museum of Transport and Travel

Do your little ones love all things transport? This museum is home to wonderful collections that reflect Glasgow's important role in the world through its contributions to shipbuilding, train manufacturing, and engineering. Expect to see a range of cars, motorcycles, trams, buses, bicycles, and even a steam locomotive.

20. Glasgow Police Museum

The Glasgow Police Museum highlights Britain's first police force from 1800-1975. Exhibits showcase the history of the people and events that contributed to the police force. The International Police Exhibition highlights policing worldwide and includes over 2,000 cool items, including headgear and uniforms from around the globe.

21. Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery

This is Scotland's oldest public museum, founded in 1807. Its collections include scientific instruments used by James Watt, Joseph Lister, and Lord Kelvin. The museum also has Roman artifacts from the Antonine Wall, natural and life sciences, Hunter's anatomical collection, ethnographic items from Captain Cook’s Pacific voyages, and a significant art collection. Another highlight is the largest collection of Scottish artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh's designs, including pieces from his Glasgow home.

22. Glasgow Museum of Modern Art

23. Pollock Country Park

Located in the city's south side, Pollock Country Park is a must-visit family destination in Glasgow. The on-site museum, The Burrell Collection, was named Art Fund Museum of the Year in 2023 and has lots of hands-on and interactive displays, which bring the stories behind the exhibits to life. There’s also a playground, a maze, a fairy garden, opportunities for woodland walks, and a herd of Highland Cows.

24. Dumbreck Outdoor Playbarn

Another hidden gem at Pollok Country Park is the Dumbreck Outdoor Playbarn, which is ideal for preschoolers. The former horses' barn is now a sensory play zone that hosts weekday play sessions and special events. Plus, there are Shetland ponies!

25. Glasgow Green

One of Scotland's oldest parks, Glasgow Green, is the perfect place to run, play a game of soccer, or have a picnic. There’s a playground, too!

26. Victoria Park Playground

Victoria Park is one of Glasgow’s prettiest. It boasts floral displays, a large boating pond, and a children's play park. While there, check out Fossil Grove. It houses the remnants of an ancient forest, with tree trunks believed to be around 330 million years old.

27. Kelvingrove Park and River Walk

This Victorian park is nestled on the banks of the River Kelvin. Two of the city's grandest buildings stand on either side of the park: the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the University of Glasgow. The park is also home to the Kelvingrove Bandstand and Amphitheatre, two playgrounds, and a skate park. The River Walk is beautiful.

28. Alexandra Park

This park in Glasgow’s east end has a nine-hole golf course, beautiful ponds, and a play area for kids. Families can walk the easy 1.4-mile loop and then let the kids run wild at the playground.

29. Linn Park

Take a woodland or riverside stroll at Glasgow's second-largest park. Here, you'll find the remains of Cathcart Castle (where Mary Queen of Scots stayed the night before the Battle of Langside in 1568).

The decor at this trendy Indian restaurant is pretty cool. A tree grows through the restaurant's center, and the space is filled with plants, bird cages, and white fairy lights.
