Free and Fun Things To Do This Weekend With CT Kids: Easter Bunny and Egg Hunts, Consignment Sales, Space Expo

3/28/12 - By Mary Beth Lawlor

As this weekend marks the start of April, let's hope winter-like weather is officially behind us. There are lots of fun Easter events and activities for kids planned all over Connecticut this weekend. We've covered some good ones in Hartford, Litchfield and Fairfield Counties. Spring Break is right around the corner and we have a great Giveaway for a Family 4 pack of tickets to Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk. If you share the FB post with a friend that counts as a double entry. Have you started your summer camp search yet? Let our Summer Camp Guide help you narrow down your options. Summer will be here before we all know it! However, until then, this is what's happening around CT this weekend:

There are two big consignment sales this weekend. Green Turtle's Eco-Consignment Sale in Woodbridge and The Connecticut Kids Closet Sale in Danbury. Both are large events where you can buy and sell clothing and gear for your children. They don't allow strollers so you may have to line up babysitting.

You can still go seal watching at the Maritime Aquarium and on the Sea Mist. Imagine Nation Museum is hosting a Teddy Bear Health Clinic to introduce children to medical services and visits to the hospital or pediatrician. Make a Kite at Earthplace and save it for a breezy day.

New England Air Museum is holding a Space Expo on Sunday. Meet former astronauts, try on a real space suit, taste space food, build a rocket, you name it!

The Aldrich and Stamford Museum and Nature Center both have drop in programs for the family. Learn about adopting a shelter dog during Muttigrees at the Stepping Stones Museum.

Well, fast forward 30 years and there is no pottery studio and only two kids but she has the idyllic countryside part down. After studying business and art, and then working in corporate marketing, graphic design as well as event planning and development, Mary Beth is now happily blogging.
