New Tot Hot Spots Central Park's Victorian Gardens isn't the only pint-size amusement park opening in a major NYC green space on Memorial Day weekend. Fantasy Forest will offer four preschooler-friendly rides in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in addition to the park's historic carousel.

The Bronx Zoo is also set to debut a big new attraction on Memorial Day weekend: Dinosaur Safari. The elaborate and educational ride will feature gigantic animatronic dinos, fossil digs and a musical theater show, plus there will be frequent meet and greets with characters from movies and TV shows, as well as folks like Mary Pope Osborne, the author behind the Magic Tree House series. Museum Exit Bits Bad news for the South Street Seaport Museum: Due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, the institution may end up closing, perhaps for good. The Museum of the City of New York has agreed to continue running the museum through July 5, but it sounds like it will need a benefactor to stay in business. We're big fans and hope its closure doesn't come to pass. Meanwhile the Queens Museum of Art will close for renovations on Sunday, June 2 and reopen with a new name and design sometime in October.

Awes and Ends The High Line's final section won't officially open to the public until 2014. However, you can get a sneak peek at it this summer by snagging free tickets to Carol Bove's Caterpillar, a new public art display that will be on view in Section 3. Visit the High Line website to vie for tickets.

There's an artsy new skatepark in town: The temporary Skate the Bronx was installed on the grounds of the stately Andrew Freedman Home on the Grand Concourse by eight artists known as Collective Energy. Try it out or just marvel at skaters through August 31.

There’s always room for another great ice cream shop in Brooklyn, especially one using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. OddFellows Ice Cream Co. hopes to open its doors in Williamsburg later this month and is selling scoops in advance via Indiegogo.

Got something you need fixed? A Pop-Up Repair Shop is opening in Inwood at 208th Street and Broadway on June 1. For four weeks, the staff will attempt to salvage almost anything you bring in from broken toasters to chairs to toys. And we know you have a lot of broken toys lying around!
