Final note: Happy birthday to Dr. Seuss, who was born in Springfield, MA. The photo accompanying this post is of the Lorax from the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden at the Springfield Museums in Springfield, Massachusetts, the city which appears to have inspired much of his work. Sculptor Lark Grey Dimond-Cates, Geisel's step-daughter, created the bronze sculptures of Dr. Seuss and his characters.
