Some random freebies for NYC folks from free food to where to fill up your water bottle when you are out and about (for free) to a Play-Doh "cooking" contest with a prize of $10,000 and a cool-sounding play just for kids that is being performed for free in New York City parks. Note: I can't take responsibility for the promotions enclosed. Please visit the linked site when available and sally forth with a free spirit and a sense of humor if the burgers are gone when you get there.

Play-Doh Contest: Submit your child's Play-Doh "recipe" and you could win $10,000.

BOGO Breakfast at Big Daddy's : Valid through 8/14, buy one breakfast entree and get one free.

Free Water: Save your wallet and the planet from bottled water. Refill your own bottle at cafes all around the city. TapIt is a website with printable maps and also has an iPhone app to show you where.

Free Burgers: Come by Madison Square Park’s Shake Shack on Friday, 8/14, 8/21 or 8/28 from 3-6pm, help test a new computer game and they'll treat you to a free burger. Quantities are limited to the first 50 people who show up, so come early.
