Hello summer and June! We are so excited for all that the promise this season holds, and to share all of the best events and activities happening in the Bayou City. Think outdoor movie nights, area water parks, trips to the Island, and all sorts of local family fun. It's going to be a great couple months around Houston, that's for sure.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, the weekend is almost upon us, and there are some amazing events happening around town.

If getting outdoors is your priority, Memorial Park and Jesse H. Jones Park are both celebrating National Trails Day on Saturday and have lots of fun activities planned for all those interested in attending. Plus, Missouri City is helping the kiddos learn how to fish at Kid Fish 2019, there are dinosaurs at the Houston Zoo, and a free outdoor screening of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is happening at Saengerfest Park

For the foodies out there, Peggy Park is hosting a Southern Fried Chicken Fest, Trader's Village is having their 48th Annual Chili Cookoff, Houston's Largest Traveling Taco Festival is happening, and Sweet Desserts Fest is promising to bring you a day filled with sweet treats from local dessert makers and bakers.

Don't forget to stay in the loop and in the know by signing up for our weekly newsletter and regularly checking in with our event calendar.
