The Rockaway Hotel + Spa – Rockaway Beach, New York

The Rockaway Hotel + Spa provides an "urban beach getaway." Just one block from the beach, the hotel also has a heated, outdoor pool and a snack bar. There are a variety of rooms to choose from, including suites and bungalows, which have kitchenettes. There's a bunk-bed room you can combine with a standard king room, perfect for families. When you're ready for a relaxing break away from the kids, head to the Scandinavian-inspired spa, which features outdoor saunas, fitness classes, and treatments ranging from facials and body wraps to a variety of massages.

The Peninsula – Midtown East

Kids and grown-ups are both indulged at this Midtown spot, which offers plenty of family perks and specialty packages. We're longtime fans of its Camp Peninsula Package, which lets kids pitch a cozy tent inside their parents' suite, enjoy a "s'mores welcome," a scavenger hunt, and a turndown with slippers, robe, and a sweet treat. Parent-friendly perks include a trip to the Peninsula Spa, where 10 treatment rooms await, with his-and-hers relaxation lounges, an Asian tea lounge, and treatments like facials using Biologique Recherche products and deep tissue massages.

Collective Governors Island – Governors Island

We're enamored with this luxe glamping spot that treats visitors to a sunset over Lady Liberty nightly. When we visited last summer, we enjoyed an indulgent meal at its Three Peaks Lodge, the kids went crazy for nightly s'mores, and the whole of Governors Island's family-friendly activities were at our fingertips. While there's no on-site spa resort at Collective Governors Island, it has teamed up with the isle's brand new QC NY Spa where you can luxuriate in pools, saunas, and relaxation rooms, or opt for massages and more. Collective Governors Island guests receive preferred access and a 10 percent discount at this spa resort in NYC.

Delamar Southport – Southport, Connecticut

This lovely boutique hotel and spa in the charming town of Southport was a perfect, quick, spring break destination for my daughter and me. After a good night's sleep, a signature Delamar Massage in the completely private spa suite left me feeling rejuvenated, refreshed, and ready to explore. We took in the coastal New England vibes in town, collected seashells at the nearby Southport Beach, and rounded out our quick respite with a lovely meal at the on-site Artisan Restaurant. It was a quick, refreshing getaway. If you can't make it to Southport, take note: Delamar owns two other Connecticut properties—with spas—at Greenwich Harbor and in West Hartford.
