Every year, your kid's birthday arrives even faster, right? It seems like you just had her last party! But here you are again, and you need some new ideas. 

Good news! So many great new spots have opened in NYC in the last year, so you're about to be the coolest parent party planner. Whether your kid wants to make art, roll in a ball pit, dress up her dolls, play with dogs, or just bounce up and down for an hour, there's a new place for everyone. Read on for six new kid party spots that have opened in the last year.

Fairytale Island – Bay Ridge, Brooklyn
Fairytale Island quickly became a Brooklyn favorite after it opened in October 2017, with a ball pit, a climbing wall, swings, slides, a trampoline, and crawl spaces galore. A non-private party with food and cupcakes starts at $385, and a private party with food, cupcakes, ice cream, and goodie bags starts at $785. Face-painting is available for an extra fee.


Dogs are part of the party at Frolic!

Frolic – Upper East Side
If your kid has been begging for a dog, this party place may just be the solution. Frolic teaches children about basic dog care and handling techniques in a fun environment with friendly pups and experienced handlers. Parties start at $900, with activity options including dog dance parties, practice walking dogs on a leash, and a doggy agility course.

Kids and their dolls will be pampered at an American Girl Place birthday party.

American Girl Place – Midtown
The newly opened American Girl Place in Rockefeller Center takes the place of the previous store on Fifth Avenue. Birthday parties here are all-inclusive affairs, and there are many price packages available, from $39 per child guest to $245, if you’re looking for a VIP experience.

The Music & Play Station – Roosevelt Island, Manhattan
Party packages at this new music-centered classes spot start at $575 and include art time, music time, climbing time, balloons, and party assistants.

A chocolate birthday party fantasy come true!

Choco-Story New York – Soho
This indulgent new chocolate museum can get pricey (think: $1,500) if you want a private space for a party. But a much more affordable option is to schedule a kid class, like cookie decorating (kids 7 and younger) or chocolate-making (for kids 8 and older). Prices start at $45 per person and include admission to the chocolate museum and a take-home goodie bag. 

Playday – Long Island City, Queens 
This drop-in art and creativity center offers parties for kids 2 and older, with full use of the space for two hours. Parties include an hour-long art experience that you can customize, such as clay sculptures, masks, finger painting, collage, weaving, printmaking, and more. Then, kids get pizza and cake, followed by 30 minutes of free play. Parties start at $550.
