Preschooler Summer Camps in Central Connecticut

When it comes to summer programs in central Connecticut, we've got your littlest littles covered

Ah! Summertime. Those long, lazy days, nothing for the kids to do but count the blades of grass, eat popsicles, and go completely insane with boredom by the end of vacation...whoa. Stop right there. Even the littlest little can get a bit stir crazy when preschool is out, and with the first day of spring upon us, the time is right for seeking out some summer boredom busters. While it may not be time for them to experience the freedom of sleepaway camp (if that's your thing) there are lots of excellent summer camp options for the smallest among us to get their adorable little feet wet when it comes to spending some quality time away from mom and dad this summer. If you're in central Connecticut, take a gander at these summer camp programs we've rounded up for you. You're sure to find something just right for your preschooler.

Independent Day School
Located 30 minutes from Hartford and New Haven, Independent Day School sprawls across 33 beautiful acres. For over 20 years they have been hosting children aged 3-6 for summer camp programming based around weekly themes. Some of the themes for 2017 include, When I Grow Up, Future Inventors, and Under the Sea.

Meriden YMCA
For many, when they think camp they think YMCA. Meriden offers traditional camp programs at their Mountain Mist Day Camp. Kiddos aged 3-5 can join the Tee Pee Village where they will enjoy games, nature activities, arts and crafts, songs, and carefully supervised swim time in the shallow end of the camp pool. This program is for children who have not yet gone to elementary school.

If you've got a budding naturalist on your hands, check out the programming at Glastonbury Audubon. Their nature-based camp programs are available to kids as young as three. Audubon Society has been in the business of nature since before your grandparents were born. There's no better place to introduce your children to the natural wonders in our own backyard.

Programs at Goddard School incorporate STEAM learning for hands-on, unique programming for every age.
