Hippest Baby Stores on the Eastside

1. La La Ling — Los Feliz

This stylish children's boutique in Los Feliz is fit for the coolest, and most fashionable babies. With rock group onesies and unique LA-inspired garb galore, it's the go-to spot to grab that first baby band tee. If little ones are in tow while you browse, let them explore the trendy toys and chalk wall.

2. The Green Bean — Eagle Rock

It is no secret that baby items add up, so if saving money on the many things you’ll need when the little one arrives is top of mind, a resale shop might be an economical option. The Green Bean has gently used children’s items, and you can also trade items with them to receive store credit. Plus, there’s a new toy shop and some gifts from local artisans.

3. Grow Kid Grow — Silver Lake

Like The Green Bean, this Silver Lake staple is another resale shop for kids on the eastside. Babies grow out of things so fast, so buying gently used baby clothes (and chic baby clothes, at that) will keep money in your pocket and help the environment. A win-win! There’s an option for trade here too, and items not accepted by the store are donated to local charities.

4. The Los Angeles Zoo Gift Shop — Griffith Park

If you’re already visiting the zoo, then it’s inevitable that you won’t be leaving without a quick pit stop at the gift shop. Whether you have a new baby on the way or need to purchase a baby gift for someone else, the zoo has an extensive selection of animal-themed gifts. It may prove challenging to choose what animal plush to pick. It’s also a great outing to get fresh air while the baby enjoys animals from the stroller.

Baby Stores in the Valley You've Got to Visit

5. Elfin — Woodland Hills

You might be jealous that the children's clothing at Elfin is not available in your size too. This contemporary brick-and-mortar store is all about convenience and curation. We love that they offer the #EverydayElfin Box, a box of kids' clothes shipped to you with pieces for your kiddo to try before you buy. You can return anything for free (in a seven-day window), and the store will even select the garments for you. When your hands are full, but you still want your baby adorned in the cutest new outfits, this is a great way to shop local when time is limited.

6. A Mother’s Haven — Encino

While A Mother’s Haven may be more commonly known as an outpost for baby and toddler classes in Los Angeles, it also houses a 2,500-square-foot boutique catered for expectant and new parents. From essentials for babies like teethers, bath products, baby care, and nursing gear, all the necessities are here. Another thing we love is that breast pumps are rentable, and lactation consultations are available, truly making this a comprehensive shop for anything needed when (or before) the baby arrives.

7. Dakota + Rowan — Sierra Madre

Treat yourself while shopping for the baby at this elegant thrift store. With a carefully curated selection for babies and mamas, Dakota + Rowan is passionate about the slow-fashion movement, and sustainable fashion is at the forefront of their story. Gently used and new toys and books are also available, as is a trade option.

8. Bellies, Babies & Bosoms — Glendale

A glance at the facade of this pastel-colored storefront looks like it could double as a bakery, so there's likely something sweet inside. Expecting moms unsure of where to begin for nursing needs can start here. Pregnancy, prenatal comforts and classes, baby gifts, lactation support, and breast pump rentals are all at this one-stop shop.

9. Kid to Kid — Pasadena

Sustainable style is the name of the baby game at this treasure trove of gently used children’s items. It takes organization to the next level with a vast selection of high-quality clothing, gear, toys, and books. The aisles are not only full of stylish, clean, and safe secondhand items, but they are also wide enough to fit a stroller.

10. San Marino Toy & Book Shoppe — San Marino

Spoil the baby with new toys and books from this 3400-square-foot San Marino store. With a range of prices and styles to choose from, this spot has everything that will amuse the little one, from classic toys to games, plush, and more. The friendly staff can help with age-appropriate recommendations, and you're guaranteed to discover something new around each corner.

11. The Huntington Gardens Gift Shop — San Marino

The Huntington might not come to mind as a baby store but trust us when we say they have some delightful baby items in their splendid gift shop. A diverse selection of children’s board books and some cute California-themed onesies are a few things that caught our attention. If you're already at The Huntington, enjoy the lush-lined paths, most of which are stroller-friendly, and older kids along on the excursion will love exploring the children’s garden

12. Earth Baby — Santa Clarita & Sherman Oaks

There’s no wrong or right decision on what kinds of diapers to use for a baby. If the intention is to try cloth diapers, Earth Baby will be your go-to shopping spot since it’s LA’s premier cloth diaper boutique and has the largest selection of cloth diaper brands. While cloth diapers may have inspired this two-location boutique, they evolved into an organic and eco-friendly baby shopping haven.

Best Baby Stores on the Westside

13. Caro Bambino — Santa Monica

Eco-conscious parents will appreciate this beautiful baby store in Santa Monica. This contemporary boutique stocks organic and sustainable brands for babies. With tasteful gifts, gear, furniture, and an attractive storefront window, it makes shopping for babies as easy as the nearby ocean breeze.

14. The Pump Station — Santa Monica

Westside families love The Pump Station, and we understand why. This nurturing sanctuary is more than a baby store and has built a community of expecting and new parents, providing education and support resources. In addition to the extensive options for baby and nursing classes, there is a well-stocked on-site baby store with everything from baby necessities to clothing and nursing products. Breast pumps are also available to rent.

15. Aldea Home & Baby — Culver City

If there's a big budget set aside for a baby, Aldea is stocked with top-of-the-line baby products. Note that items here tend to come with high price tags. Their book selection (in the back of the store) is worth perusing while in the area and has some local gems. Look for one of our favorites, One to Ten LA by Puck, which counts to ten, in ten different languages, across famous LA landmarks. This title should be in the library of every Southern California baby.

16. Wild Child Gym — Culver City

When first walking into this popular indoor play space in downtown Culver City, it’s impossible to miss their vibrant storefront. The quality selection is full of colorful book titles and enticing toys. It’s a challenge for kids who come through the gym to leave empty-handed without grabbing a truck off the shelf.

17. Lundeen’s — Culver City

Right across the street from Wild Child is an adorable gift shop with all kinds of goods. The baby section has onesies with Kurt Cobain and Bowie on them that are sure to catch the eye of parents who used to spend their nights at rock shows before the baby. There’s no need for a separate store trip to get a greeting card for a baby gift. Lundeen’s has an amusing selection for all occasions.

Baby Stores Worth the Drive

18. Roger's Gardens — Corona del Mar

In a way, it just makes sense to get items for a baby nursery from a nursery. While this isn’t your typical baby store, it has a charming baby section in its gift shop. It might be a little further of a drive, but you can make a whole afternoon of it by strolling the expansive outdoor plant nursery and dining at the on-site restaurant.

19. Barefoot Dreams Outlet Store — Camarillo

While Barefoot Dreams is not technically a baby store, it has a sought-out product for babies that moms swear by. Said product is better known as the coveted Barefoot Dreams baby blanket. Let us warn you that these in-demand blankets can be pricey, so we recommend skipping the Malibu store. Instead, keep driving along the PCH to their recently opened outlet store in Camarillo. The extra driving time will be worth it for all those late-night baby blanket snuggles.
