1. L.I. Salty Kids Cove — Bohemia
Currently moving to a new Bohemia location, L.I. Salty Kids Cove brings the fun of the beach indoors. Get the beach vibes indoors at L.I. Salty Kids Cove. There are multiple sand tables, plenty of pretend play centers, and even a road where children can hop on tricycles and ride-on vehicles.

2. La La Land — Babylon
This south shore play place has lots to offer kids 6 and under. The space is perfectly designed to allow children the ability to safely run and explore between activities without it feeling crowded and overwhelming. The CedarWorks play structure has monkey bars, hideaway holes, and slides. There are two play buildings: a veterinary center and a cafe, but my little one loved the train table.
3. Jetsetters Kids Club - Lindenhurst
My kids love Jetsetters Kids Club. From the inner tube slide to the giant honeycomb structure to the soft play toddler area, there is something fun for everyone. It's best for kids 8 and under, and on most of our visits, we find it to be a big preschooler crowd. Despite that, my 8-year-old boy has no trouble burning off energy and having a blast, while my 5- and 1-year-old girls are interested in exploring together. One thing to note is that open play is booked in 70-minute time slots, and kids must wear grip socks.
4. A Latte Fun — South Huntington
In addition to a regular play space for kids 6 and under, A Latte Fun also has a tot room, a dedicated space for the 2-and-under crowd. The tot room has soft climbing structures as well as a small bounce house, busy boards, ride-ons, and more.
5. Little Bean House Cafe — Nesconset
This cafe play space is geared toward kids 6 and under. Little Bean House Cafe offers a unique option for working parents: bring your child to open play and get work done while they safely explore and interact with other children. It offers regular open play as well as private play, both lasting 1.5 hours. Play areas include a pretend kitchen, blocks, a wooden climbing structure, and more.
6. The Nesting Place — Yaphank, Farmingdale
Open play opportunities are available for kids at this holistic wellness center location. The venue offers a Play Lab experience for kids to explore during their visit. Attractions at Urban Air are best for kids 4 and older. Pricing depends on what attractions kids choose to participate in. A platinum pass features all attractions, including the sky rider coaster that travels above the park, bumper cars, virtual reality, ropes course, and climbing walls. The basic pass is best for younger visitors who might not reach the height requirement of the bigger attractions. Reservations are recommended.
10. Xplore Family Fun Center — Commack, Port Jefferson Station
Open play is available each day at both locations. Inflatable slides, a multilevel playground, and more than 30 video games keep tiny explorers busy and enthused. The highlight of the Port Jefferson location is the ropes course, while the glow carts are a huge hit at the Commack location.

Sensory Friendly Mornings allow kids with special needs to enjoy a sound reduction in exhibits and quiet rooms. Space is limited, and you will need to preregister on the website.

14. Long Island Explorium — Port Jefferson
Long Island Explorium is perfect for little ones eager to exercise their brains and imaginations. Kids can interact with and touch everything in the exhibits. There is a maker station where kids can choose from a host of materials to make their creations, from cardboard and googly eyes to washers and buttons. A magnetic wall with PVC pipe pieces allows children to build a track for balls to travel down. There is also a communication station, LEGOs, large blocks, and an outdoor area with sand tables. Admission is just $6 per child and $8 per adult.
15. Go Playland — Bay Shore
This indoor playground, located in the South Shore Mall, offers full-day open play passes for $22. Kids can play on climbing structures, conquer the ball pit, and explore the toys in the play space. This indoor playground also hosts birthday parties.
16. Li'l Steps Fun Zone — Selden
Li'L Steps Fun Zone is great for families with mixed-age siblings. Older kids will enjoy running around the large play structure, sliding into the ginormous ball pit, or building at the light-up Lego table.
