A Latte Fun, which opened in Huntington in January, is Long Island's newest place for parents to socialize and relax while children explore and play. Caregivers, parents and grandparents can sip their foamy lattes and chat while crawlers and kids explore the safe and fun indoor play area, attend classes and celebrate birthdays at A Latte Fun.

Long Island boasts plenty of indoor options for family fun. There are storytimes, indoor play spaces and more play spaces with cafes across Long Island. And for all winter-themed activities check out Mommy Poppins’ Winter Fun Guide for Long Island Families.

Former middle school English teacher, Teresa Gabriel of Commack, is the owner of A Latte Fun and proud mother of Eva, 4, and Layla, 2. As a new mom, Teresa saw the need for a play space that served the needs of both parents and their kids. Teresa has brought just that to South Huntington. A Latte Fun is a safe, gated indoor play space for children (from crawlers to eight year olds). Flush against the gated play space is a welcoming cafe, complete with fancy coffees from caramel lattes to cappuccinos and tasty baked goods: apple fritters, doughnuts and more. The cafe serves light breakfast and lunch items too, including wraps, bagels, chicken nuggets, and fruit salad.

Beyond enjoying a hot cup of coffee while the children play, caregivers and children can embrace the many activities that A Latte Fun has to offer. From Mommy and Me arts and crafts, baking and cooking classes to children’s yoga: there’s something for everyone.

Children giggle and laugh as they bounce on the trampoline, race down the double slide and dizzy themselves on the rotating swing. But the kids’ favorite activity is to ride the colorful, cushioned carousel. The wall-to-wall soft foam floor mats make crawling and playing safe and comfortable for even the most unsteady toddlers. Caregivers can sip their coffee carefree while keeping an eye on their children the whole time. There are also staff attendants in the play area helping to keep the kids safe and engaged.

Teresa hosts storytime in her book reading lounge area next to the coffee lounge. The plush Papasan chair invites children to cuddle up with their favorite book for storytime. The upstairs studio space is ideal for a variety of children’s classes. A Latte Fun offers yoga, hip-hop and ballet classes and even music and movement class from Long Island’s famous Mr. Robert.

Long Island's newest playspace also makes for the perfect birthday party venue. Ideal for children up to eight years old, this clean, safe, and exciting space entertains children while parents rest assured that A Latte Fun will cover all the party details.

Owner, Teresa Gabriel knows first-hand that socializing with other moms and nurturing friendships for her daughters is vital. A Latte Fun is a place for moms to chat, children to play and friendships to form. “It’s a great place for caregivers and parents to get out of the house with the kids especially during New York’s long winter months,” Gabriel says.

A Latte Fun is open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (unless closed for a special event). Visit A Latte Fun on Facebook and Instagram for more information. The fee is $16 for the first child; $10 for crawlers; $12 for siblings and there are "play pack and snack" and "unlimited play" packages for admission discounts.
