Things to Do This Weekend with Westchester Kids: Renaissance Faire, Native American Heritage, Comedy Show August 3 & 4
We know many families go away in August but if you're planning to stick around this weekend, there's lots of fun happening close to home in Westchester. Two awesome cultural celebrations are happening this weekend: the New York Renaissance Faire and the Native American Heritage Celebration of Hudson Valley. If you're looking to catch a show, Shrek The Musical is showing at Tarrytown Music Hall with performances all weekend.
Saturday, spend the day at the Hudson River Museum and partake in science and art projects. Stay for August Alternative Music Saturdays in their new amphitheater. On Sunday, enjoy brunch and a family friendly comedy show in West Nyack or head to Muscoot Farm for a Native American Afternoon.

New York Renaissance Faire - Tuxedo Park
Travel back in time to Elizabethan England and enjoy 30 acres of games, rides, arts, crafts, food music and dance. Check out jousting tournaments, meet Robin Hood and marvel at the jugglers, musician, pirates, parades and more. Single day tickets are $22 for adults, $11 for kids 5-12, free for 4 and under.
Shrek the Musical - Tarrytown
Random Farm Youth Theater presents Shrek the Musical at Tarrytown Music Hall. Shows are playing Friday at 11am and 7pm and Saturday and Sunday at 1pm. All ages welcome. Tickets are $18, $23 for premium seating.
Native American Heritage Celebration of the Hudson Valley - Stony Point
Immerse yourself in Native American culture. Play native instruments, see a real teepee and check out dance performances by Native American groups from throughout the Americas. $13 for adults; $8 for kids 6-12; free for 5 and under.

Family Fun at Hudson River Museum - Yonkers
There's lots of family fun at Hudson River Museum. Get creative with family art and science projects in the afternoon and stay for the first performance of the August Alternative Music Saturday series in the Museum's new amphitheater. Music performance is FREE. Family projects included admission price. $5 for adults; $3 for children.
Sunday
Comedy Brunch - Family Friendly Show - West Nyack
If your kid appreciates a good joke, head to Levity Live Comedy Club for a family friendly brunch and comedy show. Price includes brunch, show, tax and gratuity. $35 for adults; $12 for kids.
A Native American Afternoon - Katonah
Muscoot Farm's Barry Keegan is an expert in the Native American culture and will demonstrate how they accomplished many things from making fire to flint knapping. FREE
Beyond Westchester
On Saturday, head into NYC for Summer Streets and take to the streets, traffic free! Saturday is also the last day of the 76th Annual Warren County Farmers' Fair and Hot Air Balloon Festival in New Jersey. On Sunday, check out Mommy Poppins Family Harbor Sail: Stories & Songs of the Sea.
