Kids Wear PJs and Join the Fun at New Family Show "Pillowland"
Put on your coziest pajamas and head to Tribeca, because New York City Children’s Theater’s production of Pillowland is now showing. One of our top fall family theater picks for 2018, the city’s latest interactive family play is based on the hit song by beloved kid rocker Laurie Berkner. If you've never taken your preschooler to a show, Pillowland is a sweet introduction to the magic of live theater.

From the company that produced last year's hit Please Bring Balloons, Pillowland is the story of Stanley, a young boy who finds himself having trouble falling asleep. After attempting all of the usual tricks like counting sheep, he receives an invitation to visit the Kingdom of Pillowland. From there, he sets off on an exciting adventure with his friends Finn and Quinn, and invites the audience to come along.

Kids can get snug in their pajamas to participate in this interactive play.
While parents might not find those sleepless nights quite as charming, kiddos will likely relate and be thrilled to join the adventure. Audience members are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite pajamas to really get into character. In order to keep them engaged throughout the show, kids are invited to interact as the plot unfolds.

Arrive early for pre-show activities.
The show, written by Barbara Zinn Krieger, is suggested for children ages 2 to 5 and lasts a preschooler-friendly 30 minutes. To extend the fun, you can also download the free activity book. Show up early for pre-show activities before each performance and stick around after the show to take pictures with the cast in the lobby.
Pillowland is open now and will run through April 14, 2019 at The Pete at The Flea Theater, located at 20 Thomas Street in Manhattan. Tickets are $27 each and are required for guests ages 1 and up. You can purchase ahead of time on the website or at the theater the day of the performance, subject to availability.
A few things to note: stroller parking is available in the lobby. All guests will be asked to remove their shoes before entering the theater. Kids will be asked to sit in a designated area on the floor so they can participate in the fun. Parents can sit on chairs behind the kids or on the floor with their child, if they’d like. Restrooms at The Flea Theater are gender neutral.
