Exploring Madeline’s Play Cafe and Indoor Playground

Madeline’s Play Cafe is a new neighborhood indoor play space perfect for kids aged six months to eight years old. The Parisian-themed play space on Long Island is a treat for parents and kids alike.

You can enjoy a variety of pastries, cupcakes, coffee, and juice boxes while sitting and relaxing at one of the cafe tables. The play area dazzled my kids as we arrived with its sparkling Eiffel Tower, beautiful Paris-inspired mural, and a spectacular carousel.

Open Play Fun at Madeline’s Play Cafe

The play cafe holds two-hour open play sessions to schedule in advance. Everyone entering the play area, kids and adults, must wear socks or purchase a pair. Cubbies are available for storing shoes during play. Stunning chandeliers set the Parisian mood as my little ones beelined for the pink playhouse’s stairs to an upper-level double slide. My kids played a lot in this area and loved sliding into a foam pit.

The lower level of the playhouse features a small, colorful ball pit that was a big hit and a separate playhouse area. The cute playhouse has a kitchen, play food, a kid-sized couch, dolls, strollers, and toys galore. This area is ideal for toddlers.

Three wood-crafted tables and chair sets are the right height for kids and allow creativity to flourish with coloring pages, puzzles, and books. Parents and caregivers can easily sit at the tables. There are also two couches in the front of the play area with good sight lines for the grownups. Hands-on fun is all around with a flip sequin board, chalkboard drawing, and a tabletop train. The cafe closes the play area between sessions to sanitize, reset, and clean everything for the next group.

My kids hopped on two moped ride-ons to continue exploring and drove to the magnificent black-and-white carousel in the latter part of the playroom. The rotating French-themed six-horse merry-go-round is magical and popular with kids of all ages at the open play. Older kids will enjoy another highlight–a unique, vintage-style world map rock wall. My kids attempted it a few times and had a blast. It challenged them in a fun way and had soft matting below for safety.
