Chinese Language Classes for Kids in Fairfield County

You can practically say Sayonara to Spanish.  With the Chinese economy on a seemingly unending rise, Mandarin is the second language of choice for many mamas looking to broaden their babies' horizons.  There are schools across Fairfield County, for children as young as 18 months, and at a range of price points.  They all attempt to weave a considerable amount of Chinese culture into their courses, too -- Ni Hao Kai-Lan ain't gonna cut it after this! Chinese Language School of Fairfield County -- Stamford
The Chinese Language School of Fairfield County has a 30-year history of teaching Mandarin to lower Fairfield County.  They offer 11 levels of study to children as young as five.  Classes are kept at or below a 15:1 student-teacher ratio, are held at Rippowam Middle School every Sunday afternoon.

Chinese Language School of CT.--Riverside, Greenwich 
I know one family that treks from Trumbull all the way to Greenwich for the activity-based curriculum at the Chinese Language School of CT.  They also believe in the benefits of starting young, and will work with children as young as 18 months.  CLSC is the only not-for-profit educational institution and accredited by AdvancED which is an accreditation organization that approves elite private school's curriculum, allowing CLSC students to matriculate in to upper level Chinese classes in public or private schools. Busy families flock here for the flexibility too -- weekday and weekend course are available.

Huaxia Chinese School-- Danbury
This non-profit organization offers Mandarin Chinese courses to school-aged children in Kindergarten through 8th grades.  Classes run from September to June.

Happy Panda Mandarin School -- Wilton
This Wilton language school aims to take a modern approach to teaching Chinese.  They aim to make everything as hands-on as possible with the hope of helping kids make a true connection to China.  Ages 3 and up.

Connecticut Chinese Education Association -- Norwalk
For Chinese-speaking households, the Connecticut Chinese Education Association also offers courses through the College for Kids Program within Norwalk Community College.  They use a textbook specifically designed for American kids growing up speaking Mandarin.  Ages 5 and up.
