Cheap Party Rental Spots in Dallas-Fort Worth Great for Kid Birthday Parties
When we were kids, birthday parties meant our parents claimed a picnic table in a park, had us pin a tail on a donkey, passed out goodies and cake, and called it a day. These days, while it can be hard not to fall into the habit of planning an elaborate party for your kid, complete with a theme, balloon arches, top-notch entertainment, and custom cakes, if you're looking for cheap party rentals in Dallas-Fort Worth, they do exist!
I'll be totally honest — when my kids were little, I went into full Pinterest mode and planned elaborate themed parties. But, as they got older and life got more expensive (ahem, looking at you club soccer and competitive dance company fees), I realized that I didn't need to spend so much for the kids to have fun. That's when we started looking at places like roller skating rinks, arcades, even just going to the mall and letting the kids wander the bookstore and their favorite shops before hitting the food court.
It's totally possible to throw an amazing but budget-friendly birthday party for kids in DFW. You just need to know where to look. I've compiled some of my favorite party rental spots from all over the metroplex, so take a look and get planning!

Where to Find Cheap Party Rentals for Kids’ Birthdays in Dallas-Fort Worth
The metroplex is HUGE, so it's fairly easy to find kid-friendly spots that offer affordable birthday party packages. Arcades are usually a pretty good option, as they usually offer unlimited play for a flat rate. Roller skating rinks are also reasonable; I've done several parties for my two children at the Texas Skatium, and they were some of the most affordable birthday parties I've hosted.
If the weather is agreeable, take advantage of local parks or nature preserves, as you can usually reserve a table at a low cost. There are even one or two private birthday party rental spots that have good rates!

What Are the Best Cheap Places to Host a Kid’s Birthday Party in Dallas-Fort Worth?
Pepper’s Playhouse - Arlington
This indoor playground has very affordable party rates. Your kiddo and 12 of their friends can enjoy slides, tunnels, and other fun activities in a private playspace, plus party trinkets, balloon bundles, and more. $79 per hour Monday-Friday, $99 per hour Saturday and Sunday, with a three-hour minimum. You provide your own food, cake, and tableware.
Cidercade - Dallas
This arcade is a great spot for a budget-friendly tween or teen birthday party. It’s just $12 per person for unlimited gaming on over 200 machines. You can book a table in advance, opt to try the various food trucks that show up, or order food to be delivered. The only thing you can’t bring in with you are outside drinks.
Side Quest Arcade - Garland
Another great option for gamers, Side Quest Arcade in the Firewheel Center. Unlimited play is just $11.50; they have a menu full of party-friendly favorites like pizza, french fries, chicken nuggets, and nachos, plus unlimited soda fountain and popcorn bucket refills. If you want to make it easy on yourself, they have party packages available, including the Build-Your-Own that starts at $109 for one hour or the Adventurer Quest, which includes a table reserved for 2 hours, all-day unlimited play, unlimited soda, and more.
Bricks & Minifigs - Plano, Frisco, Bedford, McKinney, Keller, Pantego
Master builders will love this LEGO shop that offers affordable party rates for kids’ birthday parties. Kids can enjoy activities like creating derby cars to race down a track, creating minifigs to take home, free play with bins of LEGO bricks, and more. The basic party package lasts 90 minutes, allows for 1-15 kids ages 4 & up, and costs $250. Be sure to check the website of the store where you want to book your party, as rates and age limits vary.
Nickelrama - Garland
I’ve taken my kids to several parties at both spots, and honestly, Nickelrama might be one of, if not the most affordable, birthday party rental spot for kids’ birthday parties in all of DFW. For the flat rate of $119.95, you get one eight-foot cafeteria-style table that fits up to 16 guests. There’s a two-hour time limit, you can bring in your own food, and every game costs $.5!
This is ideal if you have younger kids who might love video games but aren’t as skilled as older kids who can take advantage of the deals at places like Side Quest or Cidercade. There are two locations in Garland, one in the Firewheel Center and one on Beltine.
Arlington Skatium - Arlington
This is the largest roller skating rink in Texas, and it's a lot of fun. Their "cake and skate" package is $165 for 9 guests, 1.5 hours of table time, rental fees, and party supplies. You can bring a cake, but no food, so this option is ideal if you decide to eat elsewhere first. If you want to order food from concessions, it's recommended that you upgrade to the Party Hero Package. For $215, you get the same table time for the same number of guests, but you get a dedicated party server and a discount on food and drinks.
Monster Yogurt - Dallas, Richardson
Froyo for a birthday party? Yes please! One of our favorite indoor play spaces also does birthday parties at both its Dallas and Richardson locations. For $219, you get a dedicated party assistant, personalized room decorations, special monster crafts, a souvenir yogurt cup for the birthday boy or girl, a one-time fill-up of over 80 rotating flavors and 75 toppings, and plenty of playtime in the Monster Cace.
Texas Skatium - Garland
This awesome roller skating rink has been hosting kids’ birthday parties for decades, and it never gets old. The basic package, the “Bring Your Cake and Skate” party, is just $149 for 11 skaters and includes skates, a table and settings for 1.5 hours, and a t-shirt for the birthday kiddo. The table time is pretty strict, but skating time is unlimited. While other outside food besides the cake isn’t allowed, their menu does have options like pizza, hot dogs, nachos, and soft pretzels.
What Traditional Kids’ Venues Offer Cheap Birthday Parties in DFW?
McDonald’s - Multiple Locations
While this might sound overly appealing to parents, trust me when I say your toddler will not care where their party is. If they’ve got nuggets, fries, cake, ice cream, and a play area, they’ll be in heaven. Make sure the McDonald’s you have in mind has either an indoor or outdoor play space, and then contact the manager. Prices vary depending on where you live, but the going rate is anywhere between $55-$150 for 10 kids.
Chuck E. Cheese - Multiple Locations
The mouse and his crew have been hosting kids’ birthday parties for decades for a good reason. It’s a one-stop that knows how to get you in and out with ease. Their basic package includes two hours of unlimited play, soda, a birthday show, upgraded prizes, and one play pass per party guest, for six kids for just $99.99. If you want pizza included in your party package, they have upgraded options!
What Parks and Outdoor Spaces Can You Rent for Kids’ Parties in DFW?
Almost any park in DFW will have rental options. For kids' birthday parties, look for pavilions or picnic tables closest to other ammenities, such as the splash pads, playgrounds, basketball, or pickleball courts. Here are some of my favorites:
Trinity Park - Fort Worth
There are a lot of pavilions in Trinity Park, but the most popular areas for kids’ birthday parties are the duck pond, playground, and basketball court areas. You can rent space for an extremely affordable rate. $75 gets you half a day for under 100 people, $150 gets you a whole day. Let the kids play to their hearts' content at Dream Park Playground, or rent a bounce house and set it up near the duck pond for hours of fun.
Celebration Park - Allen
This park has one of the best water playgrounds in Dallas-Fort Worth. You can set up with blankets or try to snag a picnic table. There are also two pavilions for rent, one of which is near the north lake and basketball courts. Each cost $55 per hour for residents, $75 per hour for non-residents, and has a two-hour minimum. You can see more info about these spots and other Allen open space rental areas here.
Splash Pads and Water Playgrounds
Almost every park in Dallas-Fort Worth has some sort of water feature. Check with your local parks and recs to see if it's possible to rent one for a party. You can see our favorite spots here.

Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge - Fort Worth
This is quite possibly the hidden gem of cheap birthday party rentals in Dallas-Fort Worth. Choose an activity: a 30-minute wildlife ambassador presentation with an animal of your kiddo’s choice (think turtles, snakes, opossums, and more), a 30-minute hike, or a nature-themed craft, plus admission to the park for the day. A two-hour party is $175 for members, $200 for non-members, and a three-hour party (that includes two activities) is $300 for members, $325 for non-members. Party sizes vary from 30 to 60 people.
Arbor Hills Nature Area - Plano
This is one of the nicest nature preserves in DFW. There are miles of both paved and unpaved trails, so depending on the age group of the birthday kids, you have hiking options. There’s also The Lookout, Cross Timbers, and Play Prairie, three different playgrounds located by the Gathering Pavilion, which are perfect for an outdoor birthday party. The rental fee for residents is $100, and $200 for non-residents. You’ll want to plan far in advance if you want to book this spot because it’s very popular.

Check your local parks and recs website for room or community pool rentals, as these can be very affordable options for a kids' birthday party. If your church has a playground or indoor playspace, it may allow birthday parties.
