Boston City Hall Plaza Becomes a Winter Wonderland for Families

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to visit the North Pole? This year Boston's City Hall Plaza is being transformed into a winter wonderland with New England’s first custom designed outdoor skating path and a holiday shopping market. Open seven days a week, "Boston Winter Presented by Berkshire Bank" is a one-stop-shop of holiday attractions for kids and parents alike.

For the kiddos, the main attraction is the nearly 11,000 square foot outdoor ice Skating Path that will remain open through February, offering learn-to-skate programs and other special events. There's the Chocolate Story, where kids can learn about the origins and history of chocolate creations through interactive games and a pedal-powered Holiday Tree. Of course, Santa is taking gift requests and posing for photos at the Santa House. During the eight nights of Hanukkah, "Spectacular Menorah" programs feature menorah lighting, specialty food, music performances, and festivities for children.
For the parents, the Holiday Shopping Market runs through December 31, 2016 and includes over 40 chalets with boutique style shops offering a wide array of gifts and food. Vendors are 60% local and include The Grommet, LovePop, Etsy Artists of Boston, Boston Olive Oil Company, Le Souk, Campeon Soccer, Grace Oliver, and many other specialty retailers from Massachusetts. There is also an eclectic array of hospitality experiences at the Urban Lodge and Vinopolis Interactive Wine Experiences.
Opening December 2, tickets for the various Boston Winter attractions are already on sale on the event website.
