Check out one of these local favorites for a wonderful meal the whole family will love, no cooking or clean-up required. Relax, enjoy yourself, and have a very happy Mother’s Day!

Dine on French-influenced fare at Avenue, where the view is beautiful inside and out. 

Avenue – Long Branch
If you’re hoping for a truly luxurious experience this Mother’s Day, you can’t go wrong with brunch at Avenue. This top-rated restaurant boasts stunning décor, beautiful ocean views, and an exquisite French-influenced menu. Begin with hors d’oeuvres such as onion soup gratinee or baked beets, followed by main courses including omelettes and steak frites. And make sure you leave room for a scrumptious dessert—profiteroles and apple tarte tatin are among the choices. Bon appetit! 

The Engleside Inn – Beach Haven
Located in the heart of Beach Haven, the Engleside is beloved by locals and visitors alike for its great ambiance, excellent seafood, and attentive service. After brunch, take a leisurely stroll on the beach with the kiddies and breathe in the ocean air. 


The cozy Labrador Lounge has a laid-back vibe and doggie decor.

Labrador Lounge – Normandy Beach
Known for its vacation-inspired cuisine, the Labrador Lounge is a Shore favorite with a cozy, laid-back atmosphere. Don’t miss their seafood specialties and yummy desserts! The restaurant is BYOB – bring your own wine or beer and relax outside on their patio. Bonus: The pooches on display throughout the restaurant will delight your kids. 


Langosta Lounge in Asbury Park offers an eclectic menu and creative cocktails.

This well-loved restaurant comes highly recommended—half the friends I surveyed mentioned it as a top choice! Located on Asbury Park’s Boardwalk, it’s a great option for moms looking for an eclectic menu that goes beyond the usual eggs and pancakes. Try one of the creative cocktails (pomegranate sake-tini anyone?) and unwind while enjoying the ocean view.


The Mad Batter is an award-winning spot in the heart of Cape May.

The Mad Batter Restaurant – Cape May
The charming Mad Batter Restaurant is located in the Carroll Villa Hotel on historic Jackson Street. This year-round destination is the recipient of many awards including “Best Brunch” and “Best Restaurant” in Cape May. Its menu is filled with a variety of options, so everyone’s taste buds are bound to be satisfied. No reservations are accepted. 

Turning Point – Various NJ Locations
This local chain, with seven locations scattered throughout New Jersey, is a homey and kid-friendly option for Mother’s Day or any day of the year. Its menu boasts yummy choices such as pancakes, omelets, sandwiches, and salads. A special children’s menu is available as well. No call-ahead or reservations will be accepted.

Uncle Bill’s Pancake House – Various Jersey Shore Locations
Uncle Bill’s is a Jersey Shore tradition—they’ve been cooking up pancakes for over 46 years! Celebrate Mother’s Day at several locations, which will offer their regular menu of breakfast favorites all day long. Choose from classics like waffles, egg dishes, and more than 15 different types of pancakes. Banana nut? Peanut butter? Chocolate chip? You can’t go wrong whatever you decide. No reservations will be accepted. Please note that Uncle Bill’s is cash only. 

Windansea – Highlands
Windansea is a kid-friendly favorite with a perfect location right on the Shrewsbury River. Enjoy your meal indoors and get comfortable next to the fireplace, or dine al fresco and take in the panoramic views of Sandy Hook. The brunch buffet includes plenty of breakfast and lunch options, as well as a carving station and homemade desserts.

The Buttered Biscuit Café – Bradley Beach
The Buttered Biscuit is a Bradley Beach favorite. With its quaint atmosphere and delectable culinary choices, this Main Street eatery is a great choice for Mother’s Day. Options include a seasonal fresh fruit bowl with homemade granola and yogurt, the Buttered Biscuit Scramble, and the Bradley Breakfast Burrito.
