As the leaves change color and a chill fills the air, parents of teens face a spooky challenge: finding Halloween plans that are more "gore" and less "bore." We've compiled a list of 13 teen-worthy Halloween events that, dare we say, are fire.

Big Frights for NJ Teens

1. 13th Hour Haunted House and Escape Rooms — Wharton

Teens over 13 can try an escape room filled with puzzles and scary props. Or, head to the ultra spooky haunted house, filled with two floors of terror. Teens under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

2. Brighton Asylum — Passaic

Visit the Brighton Asylum for a scary night you won't soon forget. The Scared Stiff Package includes three haunted houses, plus admission to The Horror Museum, a Fear Pressure escape room, and a CarnEVIL horror game. Or buy a separate ticket to a 60-minute haunted escape room.

3. C. Casola Farms Haunted Attractions — Marlboro

C. Casola has four horrifying attractions to experience. Take a ride on the Haunted Hayride of Terror, walk through the 3D Haunted Barn, try to escape the Living Maze, or try to exterminate zombies in the Marlboro Zombie Breakout. Tickets are sold in person only.

4. Field of Terror — East Windsor

Experience four unique terror-filled attractions—Kornfield of Karnage, the Haynted Hayride of Terror Town, The Karnival, and the Timmery Manor—and you may go running from the Field of Terror.

5. Fright Fest at Six Flags — Jackson

On certain nights of the spooky season, Six Flags Great Adventure turns into a frightening place with scare zones, themed light shows, and dark roller coasters.

6. Haunted Red Mill — Clinton

Teens will get lost in mazes, run through trails, and take a hayride along the river before entering the most haunted building in Clinton.

7. Oasis Island of Terror — Robbinsville

This mile-long haunted trail is filled with terrifying sights and sounds that''ll definitely have you spooked.

8. Scare Farm at Norz Hill — Hillsborough

By day, it's a sweet pumpkin patch, farm, and corn maze. But at night, the fields become cursed with terrifying spirits. There are two haunted trails and one haunted wagon ride included in the ticket.

9. The Conover Killings — Wall Township

Walk down a haunted trail with your group and hope you don't run into ax-wielding Jonathan. Guests under age 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

10. Ghost Tour – Various Locations

Book a ghost tour and hear spine-tingling spooky tales and local legends. 

11. Merchantville Zombie Run — Merchantville

Teens can put on a costume and participate in this 5K run. 

12. Teen Night at the Newark Museum of Art — Newark

For teens who might want to go out on Halloween Night, but aren't into trick-or-treating anymore, the Newark Museum of Art is hosting a Teen Night on Halloween evening. The museum will be closed to the public, but teens will explore art, enjoy live teen-led gallery experiences, have a dance party, and take home swag bags.

13. Stony Hill Farms — Chester

Teens can get lost in a giant 10-acre corn maze, with bridges, winding paths, and misleading lanes. Saturday nights are flashlight nights.
