Make Fun Learning Games with Leftover Easter Eggs
This simple idea is a great way to reuse all those plastic eggs the Easter Bunny may leave behind. All you need is a permanent marker to turn them into learning games. There are so many different ways to make this activity fun for your child. Match uppercase and lowercase letters, rhyming words, numbers and time—whatever you want to practice, this colorful educational game is as easy as 1, 2, 3. And if you put a few jelly beans in the eggs as added incentive, we won't tell.

Materials:
Plastic Easter eggs
Permanent marker
1. Draw matching items on each half of your egg so they line up. You can practice uppercase and lowercase by drawing the letters on each side and matching them. Or, match times and clock faces, numbers and dots, etc.
2. For a more advanced option: early readers can look for compound words by writing each half of the word on each half of the egg; see how many words you can create. Or, get some hands-on experience with word families by writing the endings on one half of the egg (e.g. "op"), and first letter choices on the other (e.g. "h", "p", or "m"). Twist the egg to create all the words in the family.
3. Separate the eggs and let your little ones match away!
