Offering 10 different week-long summer camps led by Broadway actors, LA TV Directors and Casting Directors, and other top industry professionals, A Class Act NY has options for young actors of all skill levels. From late June through August, the popular program serves up training in musical theater, on-camera acting, dramatic arts, and voice-over at Pearl Studios in Midtown Manhattan–just steps away from Times Square and the Theater District. The popular program is celebrating 20 years of bringing enriching and supportive acting classes to students of all ages. What kind of camps are offered in the summer?
A Class Act NY offers programming focused on musical theater, on-camera acting, dramatic arts, and voice-over. This summer, you’ll find options like “Aladdin Kids Camp,” where children as young as 5 will rehearse songs, dance numbers, and scenes from Aladdin under the guidance of a professional actor/singer, director, and teaching artist. For more experienced actors, there’s an “Acting Lab Intensive” led by a major LA talent manager that explores dynamic performance techniques and auditioning skills, and ends with an industry showcase. Summer programs are open to kids as young as 5, while accepting students through their 20s. Within each camp, participants are further grouped by age.

Who are the teachers?
A Class Act NY’s highly-skilled teaching staff includes Broadway performers, music directors, and Hollywood industry pros, including award-winning L.A. casting directors, L.A. talent managers, and TV and film directors from Netflix, Disney, and Nickelodeon. In addition to providing an invaluable education, these prominent instructors can often help students build meaningful industry connections.
Does every camp end with a performance?
Most of the summer programs end with a final performance or showcase. For example, select intensives end in industry showcases with scouting talent agents, managers, and casting directors. Meanwhile, many of the musical theater programs culminate in a final showcase at an Off-Broadway theater.
Can kids attend the same week-long camp multiple times?
Yes! Not only does A Class Act NY offer 10 different summer programs to choose from–they never cover the same material twice, so camps can be repeated.
Where is the camp located?
All of the summer programs are hosted at Pearl Studios in Midtown Manhattan. The facility is equipped with Yamaha pianos, mirrors, acoustical curtains, sprung wood floors, and more.
