Halloween Events in Los Angeles: Halloween Festivals, Halloween Walk-thrus, and More

This post is currently getting its 2023 update!
Halloween 2022 is creeping up on us, bringing with it chills and thrills, bags full of sweets, and loads of Halloween events in Los Angeles—including Boos at Zoos, Halloween haunts, and harvest festivals. We've got Brick-or-Treat at Legoland, Oogie Boogie at Disneyland, Carved at Descanso, and tons of Halloween movie screenings, including Hocus Pocus (the original, because the new one is only streaming). Many Halloween events are still being planned, so be sure to check this roundup and our calendar of events often, as we continue to add more Halloween events as soon as they're announced.
We also know that some kids like the spooks and scares while other kids prefer gentler Halloween activities, so in our Halloween Fun and Activities Guide for Los Angeles Kids, you'll find our picks for not-so-scary events for preschoolers as well as scary Halloween haunts for big kids—plus free Halloween events in Los Angeles for kids, and much more.
