The city of Manhattan Beach holds its annual Pumpkin Race on the pier. Families are encouraged to attend in costume and create their own crazy pumpkin race cars at the pier's colorful Pumpkin Race Land.

Racing pumpkins can be purchased at the event while supplies last.

Prizes are given in various different categories - though watching and cheering is just as much fun as winning.

The festival starts at noon; races commence at 2pm.

Participants can purchase a $5 Turbo Pass, which gives timed access to the Pumpkin Race Turbo Pass line. Turbo Passes are not needed to participate in the Pumpkin Race event; entrants without them have to wait in line for their turn.

Need a Pumpkin Racer? The Official City of Manhattan Beach World Famous Pumpkin Racer Kits are available for purchase starting October 4 at City Hall, MB Farmers Market, Shade Hotel, Waterleaf, Bella Beach Kids, King Claw, Tabula Rasa,{pages} a bookstore, and South Bay Hardware. Kits are $35 before the event and $40 on the day of the event.
