Vegas, baby! While Las Vegas may not be at the top of everyone's list of family vacation spots, it's actually extremely kid-friendly. With amusement parks and arcades, interesting museums, dazzling live shows, aquariums and animal adventures, and so much more, Las Vegas is full of fun things to do with kids.

Many of these exciting activities are centered around the amazing themed resorts along the Las Vegas Strip. But there are also some great hotels off the Strip that give families more space, a break from the non-stop action, and some fun amenities of their own, like fantastic pools.

Here are our picks for the best kid-friendly hotels in Las Vegas. Use this list, as well as our roundup of 50 awesome things to do in Vegas with kids, to plan the perfect Vegas vacation for your family. You'll find more fun places to visit out west in our Western US Family Travel Guide.

Best Kid-Friendly Hotels in Las Vegas

1. Mandalay Bay Resort

Mandalay Bay is many parents' go-to hotel when traveling to Las Vegas with kids. Not only does it have great restaurants and entertainment, but kids adore splashing in the hotel's lazy river and wave pool (though if you want a tube or floatie, be prepared to bring your own or buy one). Rooms at Mandalay Bay are also very spacious and notably clean.

2. MGM Grand

Speaking of great water play, the MGM Grand has four swimming pools, three whirlpools, cascading waterfalls, and its own lazy river where families can cool off and relax. Plus, it's located on one of the busiest corners of the Strip (and is also a stop on the Vegas monorail), so visitors are in close proximity to many of the area's top attractions.

3. Circus Circus Hotel

In my college days, we'd stay here because the rooms were dirt cheap. They were also dirt-y. But after a sale in 2019 and renovations, the property is clean (though still budget-friendly!) and features the Adventure Dome, a five acre indoor adventure/amusement park. There are thrilling rides for daredevils, as well as plenty of rides for little ones. Staying pretty much in an amusement park that also features circus acts is a dream come true for kids who crave constant amusement.

New York New York Hotel: TFamily-Friendly Hotels in Las Vegas
You can vacation in Vegas while staying in New York City at the New York New York Hotel.

4. New York - New York Hotel

This is another action-packed kid heaven with roller coasters, pizza, and general mayhem, just like the real NY! The biggest draw here (besides the fun NYC skyline and death-defying roller coaster) is that you're in the middle of the Strip and an easy walk to anything and everything you could want to do in Las Vegas.

5. Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas

The Four Seasons is one of the few hotels on the Las Vegas Strip without a casino, and that's a major reason families love it and come away from their stay feeling refreshed. There are great restaurant options on site, and small touches like high-end toiletries are always nice. Plus, guests at the Four Seasons get access to Mandalay Bay, including its pool complex.

6. Tahiti Village Resort

The Tahitian-themed pool area with a sandy-beach entry and a rolling lazy river are the top draw at this quieter resort that's off the Strip. Other thing families love about this spot? Bigger family units include a fully stocked kitchen, a washer-dryer, a jetted tub, and a balcony.

7. Excalibur Hotel

Want to sleep in a castle? See a joust? For knight-loving kids, this is the spot. Back on the Strip and in the middle of it all, this is for kids who want to see the Tournament of Kings, Excalibur's take on a Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament show.

Luxor Hotel: Family-Friendly Hotels in Las Vegas
Luxor's giant pool complex is a big bonus for families with kids who just can't get enough of the water.

8. Luxor Hotel

Similarly, there's something cool about staying in a pyramid. My kids prefer Luxor to Excalibur, as they're more into the Egyptian theme. Plus, the pool complex is massive, and the Blue Man Group show that plays here is fun for all ages.

9. Hilton Vacation Club Cancun Resort

This less-busy, off-the-Strip resort allows families to be in the heart of the Vegas action in a few minutes while sleeping where it's quieter, there's a cool pool, and there are roomy two-bedroom suites. The Mayan pyramid waterfall and four water slides make this a kid-favorite, and the resort feel with reasonable prices (and peace and quiet at night) make it a hit with parents.

10. Vdara Hotel and Spa

This is another hotel that caters to families and is quiet and off the Strip. With no casino, no smoking, and a pet-friendly policy, it's an easy place for the family to set up camp. All the rooms have kitchenettes, and larger rooms also have washer-dryers. You can easily walk over to the Strip—even in the heat of summer—via a covered walkway that connects to the Bellagio Hotel.

11. Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa

Located 20 minutes from the Vegas Strip, this hotel is set in the sandstone canyons with the Red Rock mountains as its backdrop. The decor at the Red Rock Resort is lovely, and its pool complex is quite luxurious, with nine pools spread across three stunning acres. (Editor's note: This is my family's pick for a relaxing Vegas vacation!)

12. Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa

This is also a quieter resort that's located off the Strip. Why we pick it for families traveling with kids: Kids Quest. Kid Quest is a drop-in, first-come-first-serve, hourly child care center for kids 30 months to 12 years; so if kids want to play and parents want a night out in Vegas, this is a perfect option.
