More daylight, milder temperatures, and an events calendar loaded with fun are the makings of a wonderful weekend for Philly families.

Begin by getting a jumpstart on Easter celebrations with a local hunt in Plymouth Meeting or Quakertown, a train ride to see the Easter Bunny at Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Railroad, or a bunny brunch at the Country Barn. Soak up the outdoors by searching the skies for feathered friends at Winterthur, fishing in the pond at Linvilla Orchards, or trying out the playground at Smith Memorial Playground's season opening called Play-A-Palooza. After working up an appetite, grab a burger at Galaxy Burger and Beyond or delicious eats at Sisterly Love Food Fair at Cherry Street Pier.

Still looking for more? Take the kids to the Colonial Plantation for weaving, candle making, wood working, and hearth cooking demonstrations and learn about colonial times. Participate in the Blossom Kite Festival, a virtual experience held with families across the country. Or, head to one of the recently renovated playgrounds and parks located throughout the city.

If your crew would rather stay home, check out Poppins@Home, with options that include hip hop dance class and "things that go" virtual camp. However you spend your weekend, make it great by adding some of our top picks below into your schedule.

As COVID circumstances unfold, check directly with a venue website for updates before heading out. Keep your family and others safe by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing measures. If an event appears too crowded, try using the “nearby” search feature on our events calendar to find other exciting options. Note: Some photos in this post are from prior to the pandemic.
