Shofuso Cherry Blossom Festival

Shofuso and Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia's reimagined Cherry Blossom Festival features local artists and performers, with the Sakura concert series exploring the intersections of Japanese and African American culture, through a range of musical guests. Park's Pop-up Beer Garden will also set up shop for the festivities.
Philadelphia’s cherry trees typically bloom from the end of March through April. Concerts are free and open to the public, but admission is required to enter the Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center.

Friday, April 8: Hip Hop Night

Saturday, April 9: Taiko and Funk with Cherry Blossom Light-up
Music with Cherry Blossom Night Illumination starting at 7:30 PM. With DJ Oluwafemi, Kenny Endo, Badd Kitti, Omar’s Hat.

Dance and Taiko, Performances by KyoDaiko, NYC Yosakoi Kogyoku, danceLogic, Joe Small/ Swarthmore Taiko Ensemble, Acaraje, Casual Fifth, West Powelton Drummers, Yoko Nakahashi Fellowship Ensemble
3-5pm: Jazz and Raggae with Philadelphia Jazz Project’s Peace on Earth concert, and the Brown Rice Family
