New Year's Eve with kids can be a totally different experience. Instead of staying up until midnight, you might be skipping the cocktails to check out a countdown to noon event and early fireworks. Or maybe you're lucky enough to have a sitter and spend NYE with your spouse or significant other! Either way, New Year's Day is the perfect time to relax and get in some extra family time before heading back to work. Check out these great events in the area on New Year's Day for some family fun.

Sugarhouse Casino Mummers' Parade- Philadelphia
An annual Philadelphia tradition, the Mummers' Parade features fun and brightly colored costumes as well as some musical performances. Find a spot at one of the performance locations to see some of the swing bands and fancy brigades.

Mummers Masks at Philadelphia's Magic Gardens- Philadelphia
Visit Philadelphia's Magic Gardens between 12 PM and 5 PM for this special New Year's Day craft- making mosaic Mummers masks! This event is free with admission. 

Kimmel Center 13th Annual New Year's Day Celebration- Philadelphia
Enjoy brunch by Garces Events, a hot chocolate bar, performances, and family friendly activities at the Kimmel Center from 10 AM - 5 PM. The best part is, this event is free!

Disney on Ice- Philadelphia
This year's show, Dare to Dream, offers a New Year's Day performance at 1 PM. It's the closing show of the tour, so be sure to purchase tickets in advance.

Open House at Lilypad- Philadelphia
The indoor playspace in South Philly will feature open play from 10 AM-3 PM. Parents are invited to enjoy complimentary coffee while their youngsters play. Lilypad is best suited for those 6 and under.

Brunch is a fun and relaxing way to celebrate New Year's Day in Philly! Here's just a few great places to enjoy a delicious bite to eat. We recommend calling ahead and making reservations whenever possible.

Broad Street Bash- Philadelphia​
Garces Events is hosting its annual brunch at the Kimmel Center. Starting at 11 AM, get a front-row seat for the Mummers' Parade while you chow down on brunch classics, including kid-friendly items and a full dessert bar.

New Year's Day Pajama Brunch at White Dog Cafe- Haverford, Wayne, and University City
You don't even have to get out of your PJs for this brunch!
