Store Front: Aigner Chocolates - Chocolate Made in Queens
11/23/09
- By Leni
Aigner Chocolates, formerly known as Krause’s Candy Kitchen, is a magical walk back to the time when small shops ruled New York City. This unassuming storefront on the corner of Metropolitan Ave and 71st Road in Forest Hills, Queens has small town charm combined with homemade quality. As soon as you walk in the door, one is hit with the smell of chocolate which instantly takes me back to my childhood.

With its plank wood floors and charming Victorian décor, Aigner creates a small oasis in the middle of this busy area of Queens. Guitars, horse heads, turkeys and Santas are just a handful of the handmade creations that you will find here. It is quiet, small and adorable. Since 1930, the folks at Aigner has been making their own chocolate and creations onsite. It has a small but quality toy section, which is perfect for stocking-stuffers. In a time when small businesses need all the help they can get, try to buy your holiday goodies from a local gem like Aigner. You can also order online at aignerchocolates.com.
