The 27th Annual Blessing of the Bicycles at St. John the Divine
Sat May 3, 2025
9:00am to 9:30am ET
Age: All ages
Price: FREE
Location:
The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine
Reverend Patrick Malloy offers a blessing to jump start a safe cycling season and sprinkles holy water on each bicycle.
After the blessing, a rider-less bicycle is brought forward during a moment of silence in remembrance of those who passed away in cycling accidents during the past year. Then everyone rings their bicycle bells in celebration of the cycling season to come.
Doors open at 8:30am.
For the second year, the Blessing of the Bicycles will be followed by a bike helmet giveaway, from 10am-1:30pm, while supplies last. Sponsored by City Council Member Shaun Abreu, helmets will be given away in front of the Cathedral.
