Exciting events and amazing activities are all taking place this weekend on Long Island. After a wonderful (and hopefully restful) Mother's Day weekend, we've got some fun places to recharge you, and for you to enjoy with your family. From flowers, butterflies and birds to fun children's theater, there is something for everyone here. Enjoy your weekend.

Grand Opening Celebration at the Maritime Explorium

Celebrate the Grand Opening of the Maritime Explorium. The museum features interactive and three-dimensional exhibits and offers educational programs. At the Explorium, visitors experience a multi-sensory learning environment centered around Long Island Sound's ecosystem and Long Island’s maritime history. The ribbon cutting is scheduled at noon (a must see) and the exhibit featured is Super Science Focus.

The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center presents two charming plays, Caps for Sale and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The stars of the show are bunraku puppets also known as Hudson Vagabond puppets. See what happens when a sleepy cap salesman naps under a tree and wakes up to see all his hats missing! Following this play is the story of three billy goats who try to cross a bridge much to the dismay of an outrageous ogre. Watch as the puppets bring both of the plays to life in front of your eyes.
