The summer festival season kicks into high gear in June with tons of family-friendly street fairs in NYC. The debut of warmer weather prompts a head-spinning number of fantastic fairs, parades, carnivals, and other fetes—we've found more than two dozen street fairs in NYC this June.

We're not talking about street fairs selling random tchotchkes and tube socks. These are over-the-top celebrations we anticipate annually—some returning after a pandemic hiatus—including Museum Mile, Egg Rolls, Egg Creams & Empanadas, the Figment Festival, which finds a new home on Staten Island, and Coney Island's iconic Mermaid Parade. Each of these festivals and street fairs in NYC ranks on our list of the top annual festivals for NYC families.

So get your calendar; you're going to want to write these dates down. Even better: Most of them are FREE. Be sure to bookmark our Family Activity Calendar and Guide to Summer Fun in NYC for more great things to do all summer long.
