We stumbled on Local Burger Southampton after a trip to Montauk and we found that this unassuming burger joint is bursting with recreational activities for all ages. Before we dig into the juicy food options, here's the skinny on what you can do during a day trip to this South Shore hot spot, where it's totally possible to spend most of a day.
One great option available is mini golf. Start your round next to the Conscience Point Rock and make your way around Dune Road and then on to the Watermill Museum. The course features a giant waterfall that streams down to ponds near the holes and has a view of the beautiful Montauk Lighthouse in the background.
Need to perfect your golf swing? Southampton Golf Range, also on-site, is a great place to elevate your game. Head over to one of the 14 covered, TopTracer driving range bays with automatic tees. We're talking state-of-the-art technology that shows you how far and fast you're hitting the ball. Scan the Local Burger menu QR code to get food quickly delivered right to your bay.
There are also non-covered tee's, a chipping area, a grass area, putting greens, and a sand trap.

Batting cages help make Local Burger a full-day experience.
Speaking of swings, did we mention there are also batting cages on-site? Bring your favorite bat or borrow one from their collection and step inside one of three cages with pitch speeds ranging from 30 to 60mph. There is also a slow-pitch softball option available. Note: the batting cages close from mid-October through spring.
And when winter descends, there's an ice rink to continue the year-round recreational offerings.
If you're still in a gaming mood, head over to the picnic area for ping pong, foosball, corn hole, giant Connect Four, and other lawn games. There's even a playground set with two swings to tire out the kiddos! Parents can even sneak in some downtime at one of the covered pavilions.

Local Burger Southampton serves up classic burgers and shakes.
When it's chow time, Local Burger has a slew of options to choose from, including one burger with peanut butter and bacon! Specially topped hot dogs, other handhelds, wings, and chicken fingers are also customer faves. The sides and fries menu is full of palate-pleasers like onion rings and pretzels.
The kid meals come with a side of fries and a drink on a neat cafeteria-style tray! But be sure to save room for the epic, handspun milkshakes. Black and white was our favorite, but to be fair, I wouldn't have turned down any of their flavors. Adults can opt for water, soft drinks, beer, wine, or canned cocktails.
You can pop into the outdoor covered restaurant to eat at a casual table, order your food to the pavilion or a driving range bay, or even take-out for the car ride home. Plus, there are some arcade games to play indoors.
Getting There
Located on Sunrise Highway between Hampton Bays and Water Mill on the south side of the road, Local Burger is hard to miss. There aren't any mass transit options nearby, but there are a few beaches if you are looking to catch some surf and sand while visiting the Hamptons.
