The Rink Chicago

Located in the heart of Chicago, The Rink is a legendary spot that's been entertaining families for decades. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff, The Rink offers skate lessons for families on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and open family skating sessions on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Plus, they often host fun-themed skate nights, so It's a great place for kids to learn how to skate and for families to enjoy fun together.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park & Family Entertainment Center

This popular roller-skating rink is part of a larger family entertainment complex, making it a fantastic destination for a day out. The 10,000-square-foot roller skating rink is the star of the show with awesome light shows and great music, and it has adjustable skates and skate mates for beginners. When the kids get hungry, roll on over to the cafe for classic rink fare like pizza, soft pretzels, nachos, and cotton candy.  

Chicago Park District Skating Rinks

The Chicago Park District operates several roller skating rinks throughout the city, providing an accessible and affordable option for families. Some popular locations include the Maggie Daley Park Skating Ribbon, which transforms into a roller-skating venue in the summer, and the Midway Plaisance Park in Hyde Park. These rinks offer public skating sessions, lessons, and special events throughout the year.

Fleetwood Roller Rink—Summit

Located outside Chicago in Summit, Fleetwood Roller Rink has been a Chicagoland staple since 1957. With a retro vibe and welcoming atmosphere, it’s an ideal spot for kids to learn and enjoy roller skating or rollerblading. Funway Ultimate Entertainment Center—Batavia

For those further west, Funway Ultimate Entertainment Center in Batavia offers a wide range of activities, including a top-notch roller-skating rink. Xtreme Wheels Roller Skating Center—Crystal Lake

Tinley Park Roller Rink is a classic roller skating rink near Chicago catering to families since 1965. Every skating time is family-friendly, and on Fridays, it's teens only from 8pm-11pm—perfect for kids who want a safe and fun hangout spot. There are party rooms birthday packages, and an arcade if anyone gets tired of skating.
