Weekend Fun for NJ Kids: Pirate Adventure, County Fair, Minecraft Sundays, August 22-23
Soak up these last few weekends of summer with big family fun! Round up the troops and head to the Hunterdon County 4-H Fair for tractor pulls and down home eats, get in on some swashbuckling action during the Oasis Pirate Adventure or check out the Laurita Winery Food Trucks & Fireworks Festival for both grown up and kid-friendly activities. Need a jump on back-to-school learning? Sign up for the Bats for Beginners program at Tenafly Nature Center or learn about colonial craftsmanship firsthand during Industrial Crafts Day at Cooper Gristmill Park. Oasis Pirate Adventure (Robbinsville, NJ)
Shiver me timbers! Head to Oasis Family Farm for a fun pirate adventure this weekend. Families will search through 3 zones to recover 15 hidden treasures. Come dressed like a pirate and join Captain Lucky's crew - all participants will receive free entry in the FunZone, a pirate eye patch, tattoos and a raffle ticket for a chance to win some loot!
Chocolate & Vanilla Family Festival (Camden, NJ)
A delicious daytime event at Camden Children’s Garden dedicated to two of nature’s most flavorful plants. Vote for your favorite ice cream flavor and take a tropical smell test. Children can enjoy summertime crafts and fun, educational activities.
Hunterdon County 4-H Fair (Lambertville, NJ)
Head on down to the Hunterdon County Fairgrounds for a family-friendly 4-H & Agricultural Fair. Festivities will include 4-H shows, bake-offs, crafts, tractor pulls, live entertainment and more.
Laurita Winery Food Truck & Fireworks Weekend (New Egypt, NJ)
Something fun for the kids and grownups too! Check out Laurita Winery for a festival featuring gourmet food trucks, wine tastings and fantastic fireworks. Enjoy live music, delicious food and fireworks displays both nights. Children are welcome!

Canal Day Music & Craft Festival (Wharton, NJ)
Celebrate the Morris Canal at this country fair featuring live music, regional crafts and delicious local food. Take a trip down the canal on a mule-drawn boat ride or visit the exotic animals at Wallaby Tales Traveling Zoo. The festival will wind down with an evening fireworks display in Robert St. Park.
Industrial Crafts Day (Chester, NJ)
Get your mind back into learning mode at Cooper Gristmill Park and discover early industrial crafts, with demonstrations by a blacksmith, tinsmith and tin piercers. Try weaving and spinning, and make a tin-pierced craft to take home.
Discovery Saturdays (Summit, NJ)
Families are invited to drop by the Reeves-Reed Arboretum on select Saturday mornings to enjoy an interactive exploration of nature. Each week you can discover a new plant or animal through experiments, games and crafts. This Saturday’s theme is all about frogs!
