Wow, the weekend is already here again. Don't you love that? And so many fun activities to choose from. You can see everything that's happening this week on the calendar. However, our weekend picks are listed below. We've included class registrations and auditions as well as a Woodcarving ShowCanine Carnival, Car Show, and a delicious Strawberry Festival. Grab the kids and have some fun!

The Child's Tour at the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center
A kid's eye view of where the Stowe family lived.  Recommended for kids 5-12. Surrounded by Victorian-style gardens and sheltered beneath arching trees, Harriet Beecher Stowe's home (1871) illustrates the lasting popularity of the gothic-revival cottage and the influences of architects Andrew Jackson Downing and Calvert Vaux.

Cheshire Public Library
Edward Leonard hosts Fun with Rhythms, an educational drum circle designed to teach children the basics of music while playing interactive rhythm games. Children will also learn to make their own percussion instruments. Registration is required and begins on June 1st.

Strawberry Festival at Orange Green

Family entertainment, hayrides, country games and EVERYTHING strawberry can be found at  this fun family outing.


Connecticut Woodcarver's 13th Annual Show Over 50 woodcarvers and vendors will participate in the thirteenth Annual Connecticut Woodcarvers' One-Day Show and Sale hosted by the New England Carousel Museum.


Family Trails Day at Earthplace

Enjoy Trails Day at Earthplace with your family. We’ll explore many ways to enjoy a walk outdoors. Have our naturalists open your eyes, ears and noses to delights and surprises - bird songs, tell-tale signs of animals, distinctive scents. We will have scavenger hunts, make trail maps, learn compass skills, and learn to read the landscape

Audubon Arts on the Edge at Creative Arts Workshop

families with children of all ages will descend on Audubon Street (between Whitney Avenue and Orange Street) for Audubon Arts on the Edge, an afternoon of free, family-oriented music and dance performances, hands-on arts-and-crafts activities, and interactive educational programs, rain or shine.


Sunday, JUNE 5

Volunteer Day at Audubon Greenwich
Audubon Greenwich
Pitch in and help Audubon staff preserve the Fairchild Wildflower Sanctuary on North Porchuck Road when they remove invasive plants and improve trails. Wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Work gloves and tools will be provided.

Woodbury Car Show

Hollow Park
One of the best shows in the area, a typical year will see anywhere from 250-350, sometimes well over 400+ cars. WIDE range of cars, going from Model A and Model T's to Modern Muscle and everything in between. Show parking is in the lower baseball fields, spectator in the upper "new" soccer fields. Live 50's DJ, along with good food and drinks are available in the concession area. (Burgers, Dogs, Pretzel, Ice Cream, Beer, Soda, etc. Fun day for the Family!
