Park Slope is indeed one of our favorite kid-friendly neighborhoods in NYC thanks to its great restaurants, activities, schools, and parks. Now there's one more reason to love The Slope: The neighborhood just got a little greener, thanks to the opening of The Sill's brand new retail shop.

The Sill, well-known for its mail-order plant business, has opened a brick-and-mortar store in the heart of Park Slope. Even better: It's partnered with Blank Street Coffee, so you can grab some takeaway snacks while you browse the amazing selection of greenery.

The Sill started as an online plant delivery business before expanding into retail storefronts. The Park Slope shop is the brand's fifth New York City location. It's also got retail shops in Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, and San Francisco.

The Park Slope store is bright, airy, and well-stocked with an amazing, curated selection of indoor houseplants. Similar to its website, the plants are organized into various categories to help you pick just the right plant. There are plants for low light, medium light, pet-friendly, and store favorites.

There's also a great selection of gifts and planters. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, so don't be afraid to ask questions about how to take care of your plants.

In addition to delicious coffee and espresso drinks, Blank Street Coffee has a great selection of kid-friendly drinks, including regular and salted caramel hot chocolate. And, the word on the street is that its breakfast tacos are a big hit with little ones. While there are no tables inside, there are a few outside to enjoy your drinks. Blank Street also offers an assortment of cookies and baked goods.

In addition to its coffee counter and retail business, The Sill will host events for the community. 

The Sill plans to host monthly plant care workshops and additional family-friendly activities such as Family Potting and DIY Planter Decorating workshops.

The Sill Park Slope is open Monday through Friday, from noon-7pm, and Saturdays and Sundays, from 11am-7pm.
