We've made it through July and now the summer is just getting into full swing! Below is just a sampling of the many great activities you’ll find in our Event Calendar. There are so many family-friendly concerts and free movies during the week. We especially love the idea of having an ice cream sundae on the Mark Twain House patio.

Summer Tunes at the Old Mine Ruins – Trumbull
Head on over to Old Mine Park for a family concert. This Tuesday, Al deCant will be playing for the kids. Free.

Colonial Games at Stanley-Whitman House – Farmington
In Colonial times, families would make their own toys. Children ages 8 and younger are invited to come and try some of these toys out, and make a "cup and ball" toy of their own.

Free Ice Cream Social at the Mark Twain House – Hartford
Enjoy a sundae with your favorite toppings on the patio. In addition to frozen treats, enjoy music by local artists Horizon Blue, face painting, and a bubble making station.

The Middlesex and New Haven County 4-H Fair – Durham
Opens Friday night from 5-10. There will be tractor pulls, horse pulls and ox pulls, animal showmanship, home arts, robotics demonstrations, archery along with music entertainment and free face painting.
