Art in Odd Places. As far as I can tell the art itself is of somewhat dubious merit, but I think kids will enjoy picking up a map at one of the 14th St businesses including 14th St Framing Gallery, 225 W 14th St or Rags-A-Go-Go, 218 W 14th St and hunting for the artworks on the street, turning 14th St into an art scavenger hunt. Take a look at the website to see what's in store and find times of some of the performance pieces. Stop for snacks at Trader Joes and your day can be arty and yummy too.

But this Saturday kids and bikes will be taking over the streets of the East Village as part of the 2008 Kids Art Bike Parade. Bikes, scooters, tricycles and even adults are welcome to join in the fun. Show up with your bikes decorated or come early for the 10am last minute decorating workshops, free helmut fittings and learn to ride sessions or just come right before noon for the parade. After the parade there will be games, treats, face painting, live music and prizes for all the kids.
