The YMCA for the Greater Hartford Area that also serves for the Avon Public Schools has many great after school programs that offer enrichment activities for kids and teens. They have the after school academy that offers homework help and tutoring, SAT preparation assistance and extended hours for learning.

Kids Corner in Avon offers an educational after school program at either school or home (minimum of 3 kids for in-home) for children ages 5-12. They offer classes like speed reading, Lego, robotics, astronomy, mathetarium, fun science and more! They also offer homework help and tutoring. Classes are $120/week or $24/day per child. The Farmington Extended Care and Learning offers enrichment programs at East Farms School and some other elementary schools in the area for Farmington families. They give a choice for three to five evenings a week, short term “extra special activities” in the language, arts and science.

Let’s Go Art is an afterschool enrichment program that provides multi week classes of either one or two hours with a huge variety of high quality themed art experiences. The classes can be held at Avon Public Schools or a community center.

Creative Works for Children is another center located in Avon that has a variety of enriching children’s programs to learn about nature, cooking, arts, gardening and more! Classes are conducted by instructors with professional experience in the arts and education perfect for kids ages 1-10.
