Top Picks for Houston Restaurant Weeks With Kids

Houston Restaurant Weeks 2018 is here. Are your taste buds ready? From Aug. 1-Sept. 30, dozens of Houston's best eateries offer specialty menus at a set price with proceeds benefiting the Houston Food Bank. While all of the participating spots make for great date nights, there are plenty of kid-friendly spots as well! Here are our favorites. All still offer regular menus throughout the month as well as staple kids' menus.

Restaurant week menu prices are the same no matter where you go, with brunch and lunch at $20 and dinner for $35-$45, depending on the establishment. Make sure to ask for the special Restaurant Weeks menu! So, what are you waiting for? Get to eating!

Note - We didn't include it in our list because it isn't technically a sit-down restaurant, but all TopGolf locations around Houston are participating this year which is exciting for families. If you haven't been before, there is more to do than practice your swing, from table games to video games.

Bellagreen - West Houston (CityCentre)
Bellagreen actually has several locations around town - The Heights, The Woodlands, Tomball, Sugar Land and River Oaks - but its CityCentre location is our favorite because of the nearby green space where the kids can run and play. Plus, there are lots of shopping opportunities nearby! Bellagreen offers a dinner menu featuring a variety of foods, from seafood to burgers.

Crisp- The Heights
Crisp is one of our favorite spots around The Heights because of its homestyle (and delish) offerings. This year the restaurant is offering a special dinner menu that includes American and Italian dishes, including vegetarian and gluten-free There's a decently sized shaded patio as well with a lovely fountain in the middle.

Harold's Restaurant, Bar & Terrace - The Heights
Harold's is a Houston mainstay: It's been around for more than 60 years and serves delicious food - think southern comfort fare - in a relaxed and welcoming environment. As the name suggests, there is ample amount of outdoor seating perfect for families. Harold's is offering a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu for this year's Restaurant Weeks.

We probably don't have to explain why this is a great pick for kids, but for any Houston newbies, the aquarium is home to that massive Ferris wheel looming over I-45 as well as an indoor aquarium and animal exhibits. El Tiempo - Various locations
There are seven locations around Houston with each serving up cheesy, meaty, guacamole-covered Tex-Mex. Every location offers a special dinner menu for restaurant week featuring fajitas.

Liberty Kitchen and Oyster Bar - The Heights (and various locations)
Liberty Kitchen has four properties inside the loop, but the one we frequent is the oyster bar on Studemont. It's serving lunch, and dinner during restaurant week with menu items like gumbo, pork belly carnitas, and more.

Hearsay on the Green - Downtown
Grab brunch, lunch, or dinner at this modern spot near Discovery Green. The southern-style menu has familiar items with a twist like the fried shrimp tortellini. After your meal, let the kids run around the playground at the park - there are slides, a splash pad, and lots of green space.
