Diaper Drive 2012 and CT Summer Fun Expo
CT Moms, an on-line forum group for you guessed it - CT moms, has kindly organized a diaper drive within Fairfield County. You may not know that many moms on government assistance can not use food stamps to buy diapers since they are not considered “consumable” products? Crazy enough, diapers and baby wipes are off-limits to federal food stamps and Women Infant Children (WIC) programs leaving low-income moms struggling. It costs nearly $100 per month to diaper a child. Cloth diapers are not accepted by licensed day care centers or in laundromats due to sanitary reasons.

In poor and low-income families, a baby can spend a day or longer in a soiled diaper, leading to potential health risks like rashes and infections. Tragically, having an upset baby could lead to an increased possibility of child abuse.
If you have leftover diapers that your children have outgrown we know what to do with them! Did you buy too many diapers and suddenly find your child potty trained? See a sale at a local store for diapers or wipes? CT-Moms will be accepting all brands of diapers, pullups, wipes, unopened diaper creams and powders; anything to keep little tushies happy, dry and protected during their Diaper Drive 2012 They are also happy to collect any coupons, gift cards and check or cash donations (mailing address below). The monetary donations will be combined with the coupons and the best value diapers will be purchased and added to the lot. Their goal is to provide over 20,000 diapers to the Fairfield charities this month! ALL local locations of The Little Gym and Bright Horizons Early Education have both agreed to be drop off points across various locations in Southern Fairfield County. See their website for exact locations and the mailing address to make cash donations.
