National Children's Chorus Academy Launches Online Music Conservatory for Kids

With its in-person programming still on hold, one of the world’s leading children’s choirs has moved its music lessons online! Yes, the world-renowned National Children's Chorus Academy recently launched a virtual conservatory for students as young as five through the college level—and auditions are open now. No longer limited to local chapters in Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco, NCC is now bringing in-depth training to young singers across the U.S. through live virtual instruction in small groups from some of the country's leading music educators.
National Children's Chorus Tuition and Courses
With a wide variety of programs for children ages 5-17, the National Children's Chorus Academy offers small specialized online classes to help kids develop their vocal and musicianship skills beginning with the most basic concepts. Singers learn about tone quality, breath support, and musical expression; collaborate with a number of professional artists from across the globe; and work together as an ensemble to put on virtual performances. With customized classes limited to 5-8 students, kids are always engaged and able to interact with their instructors and each other in a fun environment, while improving their musical skills.
Currently, weekly online courses include:
- Ensemble Training (Virtual Choir Videos)
- Individualized Coachings with Conductors
- Musicianship & Kodály Method
- Voice Class
- Advanced Ear Training
- Advanced Sight Singing
- Masterclass Series
Students are divided by age and skill level, with kids 5-12 with beginning or intermediate musical experience in the Junior Division, and those 10-17 with prior musical experience in the Senior Division. Within the two divisions, students are further grouped by their abilities. Follow the links for more program details and tuition information, and note that need based scholarships are also available to all qualifying families.
Members of the National Children’s Chorus have unique opportunities to perform abroad.
NCC International Tours
In addition to extensive training, NCC Senior Division students have the chance to participate in annual international summer tours, like the trip planned for Portugal and Spain in the summer of 2021. This unique opportunity to travel abroad, sing with children from other countries, connect with audiences across the world, and explore unique cultures and history is once-in-a-lifetime for many kids. Past trips have included South Korea, Japan, Italy, and England.
National Children's Chorus Auditions
The NCC Online Conservatory is in session from September through May, and applications are being accepted for Fall 2020. Interested families can book a virtual audition now and attend the upcoming online information session on August 16th, 2020. Apply now!
