Awesome Things To Do in New York City in November 2021 With Kids
November brings plenty of things to do, as New York City gears up for holidays from Veterans Day to Thanksgiving and then heads full steam ahead to Christmas. Don’t miss our favorite kid-friendly events and activities in New York City this month.
November starts out with some real sparkle: the BAMKids Film Fest, NYC's Winter Lantern Fest, and Rockefeller Center Ice Skating all open the first week of November. The Brooklyn Folk Fest is back, complete with its trademark, hilarious, Banjo Toss finale. Butterflies are fluttering back to the Natural History Museum. And we have not one but two circuses pitching their tents in town: The Big Apple Circus returns to Lincoln Center and Empire Circus takes entertainment up close and personal in Brooklyn.
November's grand finales include lots of holiday lights—Lightscape in Brooklyn, Illuminate the Farm in Queens, and Holiday Lights at the Bronx Zoo, and NYBG Glow. Of course, we can't forget the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, back in all its in-person glory this year and featuring the perfect new balloon: Ada Twist, Scientist.
Find more top November fun by making plans to visit Santa when he's again in residence on 34th Street, plot a perfect spot for your holiday photo, or plan a seasonal escape with these seasonal day trip destinations.
