Families interested in a kid-friendly, oceanfront getaway in South Florida should consider Beach House Fort Lauderdale, a newly transformed space that offers oversized rooms, unrivaled views, and plenty of things to keep little ones entertained. Beach House is the former Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, rebranded and reopened by Hilton in May 2025.

Nestled along the city’s iconic coastline on North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, it matches easy elegance with kid-friendly amenities, locally sourced food, and Southern hospitality.

"We are delivering a new chapter in resort experiences, where sophistication meets the relaxed vibrancy of beachfront living,” general manager Laurens Zieren said. “Every detail reflects our commitment to creating meaningful, memorable stays.”

The reimagined Beach House is the latest addition to Fort Lauderdale’s oceanfront hotel row. But while other hotels find their niche among couples or business travelers, Beach House and its 375 suites do well by family vacationers.

The Beach House: An Ideal Family-Friendly Oceanfront Stay in Fort Lauderdale Pool Cabana
Enjoy a kid-friendly cabana near the pool.

We visited in June, and while the weather was not ideal we still found plenty to keep ourselves entertained. Brimming with excitement over the hometown Florida Panthers’ Stanley Cup championship, my hockey-obsessed family dodged some raindrops to celebrate alongside the locals.

When Mother Nature cooperates, Beach House offers guests an oceanfront pool and hot tubs, direct access to the beach, daily beach chairs, and more. Its two supervised kids’ clubs—La La Land and Funky Fish Ocean Camp—are entertaining options for little ones and appealing for parents who might yearn for adult time.

La La Land is complimentary for hotel guests and offers hands-on children’s activities, including arts and crafts, interactive computer games, and more. Games begin at about 9am and continue through the late afternoon. The club is ideal for pre-teen children, but even teenagers will find something to delight in, particularly the hotel-wide scavenger hunts, great fun on rainy days.

Funky Fish Ocean Camp operates every day of the year on the hotel’s beachfront. Kids, ages 4 to 17, can join for a single day or up to a full week and enjoy boogie boarding, snorkeling, marine biology and eco-friendly ocean crafts. Classes are capped at 14 kids, ensuing a 1-to-7 student-to-instructor ratio. Funky Fish Ocean Camp is $100 per day per child or $450 for a five days. Lunch is included.

Assuming they can pull themselves away from the sixth-floor pool and accompanying cabanas, adults will delight in Beach House’s host of restaurants. Enjoy fresh seafood at S3: Sun, Surf, Sand, poolside Mediterranean fare at ilios, and casual bites, including delicious pizza, at Le Marche Gourmet Market.

Also enjoy Barto—the new lobby lounge highlighting Latin cuisine and craft cocktails—and Nubé, the rooftop restaurant featuring panoramic views of the oceanfront. Guests can also enjoy seamless beachside service.
