A Wand Goes Out in LA: Whimsic Alley To Close Soon
We're sorry to hear that Whimsic Alley, the we're-not-supposed-to-say-Harry-Potter style fan store and party space on the Miracle Mile, is closing later this month. That means no more birthday parties, costume balls, and High Teas set in the faux Hogwarts Great Hall, no more SciFi fan weekends, and no more summers spent at "The Camp that Lived." After several years of having this underground Potter fix at our fingertips, Los Angeles is to become a one-Hogwarts town, with Universal's Wizarding World as the only quidditch game in town.
There is, at least, one silver lining.

Whimsic Alley's cornerstone for years has been its unparalleled TV fandom store, where enthusiasts can buy not just the stuff of a Diagon Alley shopping spree, but also gear from Dr. Who, Game of Thrones, Sherlock, Downton Abbey, Hunger Games, Outlander, Supernatural, and others. The silver lining of the store casting its last spell is the huge closing sale that marks its departure. If there is some pricey Potter item—or any other bit of TV or anglophile paraphernalia—that has been on your wish list, now is the time to point your broom toward the Miracle Mile and buy gifts at rock bottom prices.
Long before the appearance of theme parks in Orlando and Hollywood, Harry Potter fans enjoyed fun and games with the folks at Whimsic Alley. Storming the castle won't be the same without them.

Whimsic Alley's store closing sale will continue through the end of June, when the store shutters its brick-and-mortar location for good. To ask about specific items or hours, call 310.453.2370.
