Best Things To Do in Atlanta in February with Kids: Mo Willems, Museum Thrills, Orchids
Even in the thick of winter, there's no shortage of events to keep Atlanta families busy during February. We can start to anticipate spring with a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden as its Orchid Daze exhibit opens February 13, featuring hundreds of variants of the blooming flowers.
And there's even more to be excited about, including Museum Chills and Science Thrills at the Fernbank Museum, a new recurring event featuring a different science theme each month that aims to engage family members Saturdays from 6 to 9pm, with soft drinks for the kids and libations for the parents.
And for those of us who must forego an anticipated winter ski trip, we can still enjoy a family-friendly Apres Ski Party at The Painted Horse Winery, featuring outdoor live music, local wine tastings, hot chocolate, and s'mores for the kids. Wine tastings and hot chocolate? Sign us up!
Of course, we can't forget Valentine's Day, which should be no less sweet than in previous years. Halcyon, a mixed use development in Alpharetta, welcomes families to join a communitywide Valentine's Day Party, featuring crafts, treats, and some special guests.
Whatever you decide to do, Mommy Poppins encourages you to get out, have fun, and stay safe.
Prefer to staying home? Don't forget to check out Poppins@Home, which is filled with great classes, workshops, and sessions for every kid in the family. Babies can enjoy a music class, and tots can play soccer. Older children can learn how to draw cartoon characters or make science-related magical potions.
As COVID circumstances unfold, check directly with a venue website for updates before heading out. Keep your family and others safe by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing measures. If an event appears too crowded, try using the “nearby” search feature on our event calendar to find other exciting options.
