New York International Children's Film Festival – Manhattan
One of our March Go List picks: This annual fest features kids' flicks from around the globe. Tickets have been on sale since February 3, so a few selections are already sold out but there are still plenty of cool screenings available for all ages. Little Orchestra Society Lolli-Pops Concert: Bach, Beethoven and Brahms – Upper East Side

Earlier this week we blogged about how much fun we had at last month's all-ages BRIC House Party. The March edition includes lots of cool activities like a hip-hop family dance class, digital animation in the TV studio, a collaborative mural and karaoke. FREE

Artopia – Upper West Side
Try a variety of creative hands-on projects at Wingspan Arts' annual fest, which gives kids a taste of what the organization has to offer. This year's activities include wearable and visual art, puppet making, dance and music workshops, and live performances by current students. FREE

Caribbean Carnival for Families – Flushing
Celebrate Carnival at the recently renovated Queens Museum with a mask-making workshop, musical storytelling from the islands and a performance by Patrick Davis & Friends SteelPan Players. Free with suggested admission: $8 for adults, free for children under 13

National Girls and Women in Sports Day in Manhattan – Greenwich Village
Ladies can head to the Tony Dapolito Recreation Center for a slew of active fun including street hockey, rhythmic gymnastics demos, rugby, handball, kickboxing, volleyball and softball clinics, Double Dutch, golf putting, table tennis and face time with pro athletes. FREE

Losar Family Day: Himalayan New Year – Chelsea
Ring in the New Year Himalayan-style at the Rubin Museum of Art's family day. Watch the creation of a colorful sand mandala, construct butter sculptures, go on kid-friendly gallery tours and enjoy traditional music performances. $15 for adults, $10 for children

Suzi Shelton Band – Park Slope
Catch the songstress and NYC mom in concert performing tunes from her Tomboy in a Princess Dress album to benefit cooperative nursery school Brooklyn Free Space. $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 2 and up

Yum! Foodie Films – Midtown West
MoMA's latest screening of kid-friendly shorts is themed around one of my favorite things: food. The lineup includes Peanut Butter and Jelly, How to Eat and a 1987 animated adaptation of Maurice Sendak's In the Night Kitchen. Afterward, stay and explore the museum at no cost. FREE but tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 10am.

Saturday Morning Storytelling with the Hans Christian Andersen Storytellers – Murray Hill
Acclaimed storyteller Bill Gordh shares his rendition of The Tale of the Tail of the Cow and other Icelandic stories at Scandinavia House. Afterward, stay and romp in the Heimbold Family Children’s Playing and Learning Center. FREE for storytelling, $15 for play space

Family Purim Celebration with The Macaroons – Battery Park City
Although Purim officially takes place next weekend celebrate early at the Museum of Jewish Heritage with a concert by the popular Jewish kid rockers. Holiday-themed crafts and family-friendly tours of the galleries are also on tap. $10 for adults, $7 for children under age 11

Heroes, Villains and Hamentaschen – Lower East Side
